Cunny Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Apparently, The Guardian are running quotes from Benayoun's agent tomorrow, saying he will look to move to a mid-table team where he'll get regular games if his situation does not change at Liverpool. He says Yossi's patience is running out.If true, it's a bit early to be throwing the toys out of the pram after 3 games!
stressederic Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 I think the bigger issue here is; does this mean we can reopen the always riveting discussion of how many transfers a player can make each season?
jon_hall Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 If true he can f*** off. If not true, Yossi needs to f*** the agent off.

He was very friendly with him on Sunday, Lucas too. Edited August 21, 2007 by Elisha_Scott
Ramón Benítez Hernández Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Mid table team? Aim lower than that Yossi. You can go to United and we'll get Heinze in a swap deal. I wonder who the last player was to move between the two clubs and when.
Cobs Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 bizarre if true he was already at a mid table club and chose to come here buckle down, train hard & take your chance when you get it, Yossi.... or f*** off!
Elisha_Scott Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 His agent is Ronen Katzav. Life really is a rollercoaster for Yossi then?
Cobs Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Life really is a rollercoaster for Yossi then? Don't you start!
Cam Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 buckle down, train hard & take your chance when you get it, Yossi....Rafa to Yossi: "You say it best when you say nothing at all."
Zoob Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Just curious: where does this rumour of a story in the Guardian come from?
Herbie von Smalls Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 he wasn't a regular last season at west ham. and he got a start against toulouse. can't believe he'd be making noises so early in his LFC career, he managed to keep a low profile while he was at west ham.
R A Softlad Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Life really is a rollercoaster for Yossi then? The fact that you know that is worrying, the fact that I know that you know that is making me feel sick...
anfield Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 What exactly did Yossi expect. Although, its been said before, the likes of Sissoko, Crouch, Voronin and Yossi are not going to be happy this season.
downunder Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Odd that whole article - no quotes from Yossi.
Zoob Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 (edited) For such an article to come out after just 3 games is absolutely absurd. I feel a bit better for the fact that there are no direct quotes from Benayoun, but would his agent say such stuff without a player's say so? just seems mad. He really wanted to come to us, knew exactly what the situation was, so I don't get where this is coming from. since the article is from something his agent said to the Israeli press (who presumably find it strange that their national captain has been omitted from 2 out of 3 squads this season) it perhaps needs to be seen in context - ill-advised and a bit foolish, and talking about much further down the line.... In fact, the more I think about it, the more I think it likely that there's also something lost in the translation. I hope Benayoun will come out and say something about this. Ethan Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I can't see Yossi getting too many games - especially against the bigger teams - He'll have to be happy with games in Carling and FA cup with Momo, Lucas, Leto, Insua etc. I really didn't understand us signing him when we did.
New York Red Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 He knew what he was getting into. No sympathy from me.

How long do you think that's going to last?
Guest CanadianRed Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 (edited) I think this is just the media trying to create a story where there is none. For me there is nothing to suggest that Yossi is displeased; his agent was asked his opinion on Rafa's rotation policy and gave an answer. His agent never says "We're thinking about moving clubs" or anything like that. He never even says the bit about situation needing improvement, the writer of the article puts those words into his agents mouth. He goes on to point out that Rafa asked for patience when they held talks and that Benayoun understood this, has patience, and is willing to fight for his place in the squad. To me the article says that if he is regularly left out of the squad then he would have to consider moving on, it does NOT say that he is currently thinking about leaving the club. Really this is just a case of lazy journalism IMO. Edited August 22, 2007 by CanadianRed
