Bootle Buck Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 He seems like the forgotten man at the moment is he injured? Maybe Rafa was saving him for Toulouse but I was surprised not to see him on the bench. He didn't seem to feature much in the pre-season games either.
Kahnee Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 One game. One f***in' game. Benayoun wasn't on the bench either. Nor was kewell. And Reina barely kicked a ball in pre-season. Are they all forgotten as well? Welcome to the Sky generation
honourablegeorge Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Kewell, Mascherano, Benayoun and Crouch not even in the squad, despite being fit and available. I guess that's progress.
IgPig Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 (edited) Forgotten man after 1 game. Love it. Do you work for Sky Sports or a tabloid newspaper? Edited August 13, 2007 by Post Kuytal Glow

RedNik Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Is Kewell fit or not? People messing with me mind here.
Rimbeux Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Someone is going to miss out. We have a lot of players and it's tough to make the squad even. Thinikng that the four subs will usually be a defender, a midfielder and two attacking players, there's generally only room for 3 of the 5 central midfielders in the matchday squad. I think Babel will make most of the squads because he can play so many positions, whereas Crouch has just one. Voronin is one who can play wide/deep, as can Kuyt and Torres.

We're talking about the channel who were banging on about the three teams in the "drop zone" yesterday evening FFS. Drama over factual content every time

Alonso Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 One of the Setanta commentators said during the Villa game that you could argue that Rafa had already started his rotation policy by not including Crouch or Mascherano in the squad. IT'S THE FIRST GAME YOU MUPPETT.
Romario Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 It's great to finally be able to leave such good players at home. It shows how much effort the players in the first 11 have put in and hopefully carry into the game too. Crouch will play mid week I'd guess.

Leo No.8 Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Crouch will start against Toulouse I'd imagine. He's very much in Rafa's plans I'm sure.
Mike S Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 I think he'll start vs chelsea. They couldn't handle him and Kuyt earlier this year at anfield.

Bootle Buck Posted August 13, 2007 Author Posted August 13, 2007 (edited) We had two challenging games during pre-season in Portsmouth and Feyenoord and I don't think he featured in either. Edited August 13, 2007 by Bootle Buck
crisps Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 For Chelsea I'd just keep our best strikeforce, Kuyt and Torres.
