Maybe this is somewhere RTK could come in handy.

With the new owners, all the right moves are being made in most areas. Now, f they're going to throw god knows how much into branding and marketing the club elsewhere, nows the time to simplify to the Liverbird again.

Looking at the new stadium plans the one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is that over elaborate crest. The flames can still be included somehow, as mocked up many a time on here, and also within the clubs own branding sometimes too.

Is there any reason why not to do this? especially given this opportunity? and do you think the club have considered it?

I would agree - the current badge has too much detail. They should look at only having the Liverbird even for the CL jersey as a starting point.

The old one of the liver bird in the shield lgsp0041.jpg was perfect

People have said that we couldn't use it cos the Liverbird was subject to copyright, but surely it'd have to be the whole image that was subject to the copyright, and not just the liverbird.

Stick a flame on that (as has been mocked up on here before) and let's go.

Doesn't quite work like that. Any part of an image, or a product can be subject to copyright, or intellectual property rights, etc . but for what it's worth, I like the current badge as it is.....

yeah, so call the kop the mcdonalds family grandstand. whats the f***ing difference?

by your higher logic, why design a new stadium at all, what difference will it make in the pursuit of "number 19"?

mibd you we don't want anything like that crap Arsenal badge. Now that is shoite

exactly that's how wrong it can go. but the liverbird, what a waste.

the current crest is akin to the london olympics logo.

I think it's the right time for an update.

The club badge has gone through many changes over the years, so I don't see any reason to hold onto the existing design, as long as the new design retains the flame, I'd be happy.

At the risk of getting shot down with a bolt lightening, I think it's also the right time for the Shankly Gates to be removed.

history is still that, history.

those glory days can still return, regardless of whether we have anew badge or not.

I'd like to see us going back to the simple badge we had in the 70's/80's:

A Liverbird with LFC underneath. Add the eternal flames and that's it.
