Frosty Jack Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Maybe this is somewhere RTK could come in handy. With the new owners, all the right moves are being made in most areas. Now, f they're going to throw god knows how much into branding and marketing the club elsewhere, nows the time to simplify to the Liverbird again. Looking at the new stadium plans the one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is that over elaborate crest. The flames can still be included somehow, as mocked up many a time on here, and also within the clubs own branding sometimes too. Is there any reason why not to do this? especially given this opportunity? and do you think the club have considered it?
JohnnyH Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Yeah. Get the RTK involved and then they can blame the OOTers for the current badge along with everyone else.
boohog Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 What's the point? Do you think it will have any discernable effect on anything?
coldox Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 I would agree - the current badge has too much detail. They should look at only having the Liverbird even for the CL jersey as a starting point.
Guy_Incognito Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 The old one of the liver bird in the shield was perfect People have said that we couldn't use it cos the Liverbird was subject to copyright, but surely it'd have to be the whole image that was subject to the copyright, and not just the liverbird. Stick a flame on that (as has been mocked up on here before) and let's go.

Any part of an image, or a product can be subject to copyright, or intellectual property rights, etc . but for what it's worth, I like the current badge as it is.....
Maldini Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 (edited) Found this one on google, looks good Edited July 25, 2007 by Maldini

Red Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 I think it's the right time for an update. The club badge has gone through many changes over the years, so I don't see any reason to hold onto the existing design, as long as the new design retains the flame, I'd be happy. At the risk of getting shot down with a bolt lightening, I think it's also the right time for the Shankly Gates to be removed.

surf Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I'd like to see us going back to the simple badge we had in the 70's/80's: A Liverbird with LFC underneath. Add the eternal flames and that's it.
Red Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Great photo that surf. Don't it look great without "Carlsberg" on it too... aaaah them were the days!
floyd Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Shamefully nicked of lazy.boy of RAWK, but this is simple and effective.
