May not be Liverpool related but the forum is slow as people have (hopefully) f***ed off and found new homes, but just watching the golf on Sky and they referred to "the 6 footballing sirs".

Sir Bobby Robson

Sir Alex the drunken c***

Sir Matt ex-Liverpool Captain

Although I'd like the people as individuals, Shanks, Bob and the like, to get the recognition I kind of like the fact that they don't, that they aren't part of the establishment, and that they're part of something bugger than that. They're ours, they're liverpoolFC, they're folklore.

To the rest of the country (or non-liverpool fans) these accolades will die with time, but never within the hearts of those who history, passion, and cultures passes the knowledge down to.

Dalglish deserves it more than anyone in football...

... and that's before you even consider what he did on the pitch.

He deserves it for the way he led a whole city after Hillsborough.

And even though he deserves it solely for that, there's also the fact he's:

England's most successful club's greatest ever player

Celtic's 2nd greatest player

Scotland's most capped player

One of 3 managers to have won the title with 2 different clubs in England

He gave us Kelly Dalglish
