I know you were too arrogant to take on any coaching or advice, and I know you put more effort in to your hair than you did in to playing for the team - but you had a hand in two great finals

The fact you've got OM paying for you when you hardly set the place alight last season is a bit of a shock, certainly, but hey - gift horses n all that

At the end of the day, frustrating as you were, you weren't Diouf and for that Eric is grateful

Rarely, if ever, has any player donned the red shirt with such pride, showed the supporters such respect in his sheer endeavour and demonstrated such openness to coaching by coming on with such leaps and bounds week in, week out. His shyness in going to the press was only matched by his unstinting work ethic to demonstrate his commitment. His knowledge of and ability to manipulate the offside trap was second to none and his selflessness knew no bounds.

He'll be sorely missed. YNWA.

Just to rub it in, and while you're at it why not add that he twice broke a leg that belonged to Liverpool FC.

Its definitely a 'queen of hearts' moment. Maybe Sir Elton can be persuaded to write a tune for his passing.

Rod could rework "Yor Wear it Well". Pete Doherty could write the revised lyrics with his own blood. Robbie Williams could sing backing vocals. The video could be recorded on the cliffs of Dover. Jarvis Cocker could interrupt the video shoot to push the three over the edge. Result all round.

Goodbye big French ponce,

Though you could hardly play football at all,

You had the pace to get in behind defence,

To f*uck up the final ball.

Up there in your mansion,

The hair dye leaked into your brain,

You lazy, headless chicken,

You'll never wear our red again.

Got nowt against him. Scored some goals, didn't live up to his hype but helped us win the FA Cup and European Cup for which I'll be eternally grateful
