Guest Kaizer Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 what sort of player is Quaresma, is he a take them on winger, or an up and down grafter? Just imagine all the abilities you want from a winger, and there you have him.
Guest Sabre Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LF0pinu-uw Quaresma vs Arsenal from the Champions League
domlfc Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 what sort of player is Quaresma, is he a take them on winger, or an up and down grafter?i see him as very similar to ronaldo and will track back, he never really got a chance at barca and people seem to be judging him on his time there.
RafaShanks Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Quaresma is a lot more exciting then Malouda and Simao, but if he's more consistent and works as hard I'm not the expert to say. But he is more a "edge of the seat" signing, that's for sure. Maybe Rafa should take a chance on a player like this, we don't have anyone near as technical. For all our hardworking and tracking back-players, we also need a player who could dowork some magic. And it's not like Rafa can't work with him if he got some flaws that needs to be corrected. He's also considerably younger than those two and Mancini and should get better and better. Remember Placcy in his first season? I like the fact that Rafa is looking at long term signings for us, which also indicate he's here for the long haul.
Guest Linton Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 what sort of player is Quaresma, is he a take them on winger, or an up and down grafter? Technically, the closest thing I can come up with is C Ronaldo. Maybe he is a bit like he was in his early days at Man Yoo? With the proper coaching he will be world class.
stressederic Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LF0pinu-uw Quaresma vs Arsenal from the Champions League What a bizarre compilation. It's just 4 minutes of him getting loads of the ball and doing f*** all with it.
Clay Davis Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Quaresma and Ronaldo vs. Brazil. If he's consistently that good...
Guest Sabre Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 What a bizarre compilation. It's just 4 minutes of him getting loads of the ball and doing f*** all with it. It's just like 4 minutes of playercam. He did nothing other than hit the post twice...
Jonesy Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 What a bizarre compilation. It's just 4 minutes of him getting loads of the ball and doing f*** all with it. Oh I dunno he tucked the corner flag away nicely.
stressederic Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Quaresma and Ronaldo vs. Brazil. If he's consistently that good... That's another odd one. The ball in for Simao's goal is nice, but the rest is just 6 minutes of him and Ronaldo showboating to no effect and getting kicked up in the air.
Guest JV Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Quaresma looks remarkably like Henrik Larsen.no he doesn't
ploveroil Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 What a bizarre compilation. It's just 4 minutes of him getting loads of the ball and doing f*** all with it. Save for hitting the post twice, I non-ironically agree.
Guest Kaizer Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 (edited) These are the three best compilation of Quaresma the way I see it. First one from this season.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PupBTymHGI...ted&search= From all his career, all back to the Sporting days.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKAgdV0rFlQ...ted&search= and at last the one I think is one of the best. and this one.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDAbZNvBSNg...ted&search= For those who have not seen much of him, these videos should give you a bit of a clue, ersonally I have seen all of Porto`s CL matches this season and there is no need to worry about him going missing, he has been constantly among the best players on the pitch in every match and MOTM more often than not. I have also seen a couple of matches from Portugal and I have the same impression from there. Edited July 5, 2007 by Kaizer

domlfc Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 you have seen the same as me, seems some people just like to find fault on four minute you tube clips and use them for unqualified opinions

anfield11 Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LF0pinu-uw Quaresma vs Arsenal from the Champions League Apart from the shot that hit the post, that was Pennant like.
Clay Davis Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Simao is not in the same class as quaresma, enough saidSimao is not as skillful as quaresma, granted. who's more effective? thats up for question...
Clay Davis Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 you have seen the same as me, seems some people just like to find fault on four minute you tube clips and use them for unqualified opinionsas some people just like to base opinions on four minute you tube clips which obviously show their best stuff - and if their best stuff is tricky but not effective then that is a valid point to make.
stressederic Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 you wouldn't say, from what you've seen there, that that was "playing well and providing an assist"? saying that - Simao was on 5 minutes and scored a goal - which is much more than Quaresma and Ronaldo did for the 90 He certainly provided an assist, as to whether he played well I honestly can't say. From what I saw there were lots of little flicks and tricks, but beyond that not really an awful lot. I don't really have an opinion either way on Quaresma and am happy to be convinced, but some of these compilations just show a skilfull player with no real end product. Most of those little clips showed the move breaking down through him. you have seen the same as me, seems some people just like to find fault on four minute you tube clips and use them for unqualified opinions Subtle. Alternatively some people need slightly more than a 4 minute Soccer AM Showboating montage to decie that a player is world class.
stressederic Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Let's be fair...Ronaldo was hardly showboating throughout that clip. He was running at full pelt at Brazil and taking on players. Ronaldo did look nice and direct, and I particularly liked the irony of Brazlian defenders kicking a player very hard in the legs because the attacker is to tricky for them to handle. Beyond that though I've certainly seen Ronaldo play better and be more effective.
Guest Sabre Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 If Quaresma has anywhere near the same raw ability as Ronaldo then we should buy him. Ronaldo had very little end product when he joined Man U. Would you like him in the Liverpool team?
