Cunny Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 a mate reckons we will have the electronic moving advertising boards at anfield next season. He reckons he read it somewhere. He's not BS merchant but it does not mean what he's read is true. Does anybody know if there will be electronic boards next season?
San Diego Red Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 (edited) Wouldn't be much point would it? New stadium getting started and all. Edited July 1, 2007 by KPatel
Cunny Posted July 1, 2007 Author Posted July 1, 2007 we have at least 3 years left at anfield and they generate significantly more revenue than normal static advertising boards.so, it probably is worthwhile.
Guest Snorky Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 It might happen, but wouldn't we lose some front rows to accomodate this ?
Cunny Posted July 1, 2007 Author Posted July 1, 2007 possibly but that's just a CL stipulation isn't it?
Guest Snorky Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 possibly but that's just a CL stipulation isn't it? Yes it is, but aren't these boards the same height nearly ? Which would mean losing seats wouldn't it ?
Cunny Posted July 1, 2007 Author Posted July 1, 2007 dunno, you would think they could specially sized boards, so we don't need to lose seats?
Guest Snorky Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 dunno, you would think they could specially sized boards, so we don't need to lose seats? All the ones I remember (Old Trafford/ Madrid) appear to be larger than normal boards.
Hoff Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 (edited) The director's box is being extended apparently - the season ticket holders directly above have been written to saying they're gonna get moved. Edited July 1, 2007 by Hoff
Herbie von Smalls Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 don't think craven cottage has lost any seats from their installation there.
Guest Snorky Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 The director's box is being extended apparently - the season ticket holders directly above have been written to saying they're gonna get moved. Fat americans ?
Guest Snorky Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 don't think craven cottage has lost any seats from their installation there. Neither did Man United, but both their pitches are a lot higher than the edges aren't they ?
Herbie von Smalls Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 Neither did Man United, but both their pitches are a lot higher than the edges aren't they ?don't recall fulham's pitch being higher. i've never been down at the front there though.
Armin_Tamzarian Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 I remember reading we were getting them, they can be moved to the new stadium so no money lost in installing them. I remember reading one person saying how delighted he was that we'd get them 'cause they're modern'. I detest them. Horrible, garish and distracting. I pay to watch the team not to have distracting movement in my lateral vision.
Stevie H Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 I detest them. Horrible, garish and distracting. I pay to watch the team not to have distracting movement in my lateral vision.they're appalling. remember reading the mancs' players complaining about them too as being distractions.
johngibo YPC Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 f***ing music after goals next. there is no connection between the two
cocknose Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 I think there is, the commercilisation, americanisation of football. How long until adverts between a goal being scored and teams kicking off again on sky?
Guest ojdk Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 The director's box is being extended apparently - the season ticket holders directly above have been written to saying they're gonna get moved. Isn't it the press box - something to do with PL/UEFA regulations?
MickeyDocs Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 NO NO NO NO NO - I HATE these electronic boards!!!!!
filopastry Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 I think there is, the commercilisation, americanisation of football. How long until adverts between a goal being scored and teams kicking off again on sky? Electronic advertising generates cash, music after goals doesn't, I'd imagine thats the main difference
cocknose Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 I would like it if we left anfield as it is while we are still there, fair anough when we move to the budweiser bowl it is inevitable to have screens , revolving hoardings and cheer leaders, but while we are on our way out of anfield i would like to keep it special.
Beardsley Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Snorky & Co will convert their jobs to being cheerleaders, we'll drop YNWA and play the national anthem instead, and if one of our players scores a hattrick we'll get a free burger at McD's.
