Guest Snorky Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I don't believe them for one iota. Gerrard, Carra, Reina, Alonso and Sissoko have all or about to extend their contracts. Rafa would have spoken to them all and explained the future to them in order that they stay. Rafa himself has had meetings with G&H and between them they would have mapped the future of the club out and given Rafa the assurances that he needs to keep him as our manager. Rafa's convinced, he's convinced the five players mention above, so why isn't everyone else ? Just be patient, just because we don't sign a multi million pound player each day of the week does not mean that there is trouble at mill.
anny road Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 no no all the paper shave been brifed about him not being happy..well not all the papers, some of them...all the tabloids in fact, well not all of them but some of them

Rafa and G & H are just getting the foundations right first , tie the core of the team down then build around it during the summer if possible, all very boring and sensible but tough thats business.
RafaShanks Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Feck off Kev, sensible topics or rational points of view are not allowed on here!!!
anfield Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 no no all the paper shave been brifed about him not being happy..well not all the papers, some of them...all the tabloids in fact, well not all of them but some of them A lot of the gnashing of teeth on the forums is over the top. To say Rafa is unhappy is probably an exaggeration. To say he is frustrated is probably more accurate. Thats not based on tabloid speculation but his own words. As others have said, getting player contracts signed is a good sign. However, I seriously doubt that Alonso and co demanded that Rafa reveal his transfer strategy and received assurances before they signed.
Crazy Horse Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 all the paper shave been brifed about him not being happy..well not all the papers, some of them...all the tabloids in fact, well not all of them but some of them He briefed them himself right after the final, lest we forget.
Christine Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Rafa causes most of this ?s***? with his comments.... and even what he doesn?t say adds to the speculation.
lfc2004 Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Like I said hes got money just not loads. More will be generated by the sale of Bellamy. 60 million I think. I don't expect the mancs to spend over 60m if they do it will be Huntlaear for 10 million which will take them over 60 million. Bascombe article I just can't see it. Theres no way the yanks woul not back Rafa they can't afford to simple as that. Our lack of transfer activity must mean one thing. Spanish targets. Someone said on here Figaro I think that Rafa had been in touch with Torres so we'll wait and see. Ive heard about Henry and only time will tell but its deffo an option. This comes from someone pretty concrete in the club. Lets wauit and see eh.
Dominus Maximus Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 whomever we sign from spain will make it official just before the last game next week. Then at least they can claim the weekend game to be their farewell game. (Torres or whatever)
anny road Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 so we choose to list what Rafa says after the final but ignore what he said since then bizarre
Rory Fitzgerald Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 (edited) Not to p!$$ on your parade Kev but all those players all committed to Liverpool before with no news of financial investment. Rafa though is a different kettle of fish, lately he has made more public demands of his bosses and he has also publicly stated that he has been reassured by them. Tom Hicks and George Gillet have publicly stated their willingness to fund our future and have even waved bank notes at the camaras. On this basis I am reassured..........................because not following through would kill the credability of our new owners given that the early scepticism of them being foreign investors/owners and the backing Benitez has from the most important people of all - the fans and players ! Granted Stevie and Carra would have signed anyway, but not possibly the others. Rafa's convinced and he's convincing the player(s).
RafaShanks Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Granted Stevie and Carra would have signed anyway, but not possibly the others. I'm sure both wanted to know Rafa's transfer plans to help us push for a serious title challenge.

McBain Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 on your first comment.......the willingness of Alonso to sign when he has Barca knocking at his door tells me he was assured of the immediate future Aye. "we're not signing too many new players are we boss? I dont want to lose my place" "dont worry Xabi lad. We aren't signing anyone this summer"
Guest Snorky Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I'm sure both wanted to know Rafa's transfer plans to help us push for a serious title challenge. From what I've heard and been told by a few people, Stevie and Carra are more often that not included in Rafa's meetings about the future. I understand what you say, but these two would probably need less convincing and about staying than any other player.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 when did G&H take over ?when did Rafa have his meetings with G&H ? Granted Stevie and Carra would have signed anyway, but not possibly the others. Rafa's convinced and he's convincing the player(s). To be honest, the only clue is Rafa. If there was no investment from anyone on the horizon then I still think Alonso, Sissoko, Reina, Gerrard and Carra would have extended their contract. Rafa is the only person I think that has started to show a bit of impatience and look for more.

BTW - her indoors says she 'would love to meet up' so we're on for WB!

Are you aware that every player we sell we will have to replace?
Dan Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I expect a response from Rafa this week that will pour scorn on this bullsh*t.
Guest Snorky Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Have I nicked your log in? BTW - her indoors says she 'would love to meet up' so we're on for WB! Someone tried to last night, 51 times And I shall look forward to meeting you and yours.
Benitez Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Rafa causes most of this ?s***? with his comments.... and even what he doesn?t say adds to the speculation. so either way it's always his fault then
