"Goalkeeper Daniele Padelli has returned to Sampdoria after his loan spell at Anfield came to an end.

The Italian Under-21 international joined Liverpool in January and made his one first team appearance in the Reds' final Premiership game of the season in a 2-2 draw with Charlton Athletic.

Padelli was a regular member of Gary Ablett's Reserve side after moving to Anfield and made seven appearances for the second string.

We wish him the best of luck for his future career "

From here

Never looked like he would cut it here, and always seemed a bit of an odd signing to me, but there you go...

So he was s*** eh? A bit quick there.

Italian U21 goalie.

Got one game only, bricked himself, and then off you go.

I know I would have been nervous if I was a goalie making my LFC debut.

And that's highlighting the positives in his performance

Generous of you :D

Must be feeling happy after reading the Echo about us looking to sign Sally Gunnell

Sure, but he had ONE game....at a confidence position.

Young goalie in front of the Kop.

Oh well...he is gone now...

Nothing to argue about.

In fairness, I wouldn't say that his perfomance was 's****'.

'f***ing terrifying' would be more apt.

We've had a few keepers in recent (and not so recent) years who could give you the jitters at times - Brucie, James, Westerveld, Dudek (I'm not even going to bother including Mike Hooper), but that performance from Padelli outdid all of them for sheer fear factor every time the ball came near him.

Best of luck to him, I assume it was just a very bad day at the office as he can obviously play a bit, and it would be unfair to judge him on that one game. However, I've never seen a display quite like that one.

played half a game for us didn't he?

And was so good that we got another keeper (Jonesey) in on loan so he wouldnt have to play.

:D

Didn't he get injured in that Chelsea game (which I had totally forgotten about. Bruno Cheyrou is all I can remember)?

Bloody hell, judging him as s*** on one game. Some of the people saying this are the same ones who were defending (excuse the pun) Paletta after the worst Liverpool CB performance I've ever seen vs The Arsenal - bit hypocritical.

He may not be good enough for us, but he's an Italian U-21 goalie, so he must have a lot of talent. Lay off the lad it was his first game for a huge club infront of the kop.

John Welsh used to skipper the U-21s

Lighten up. His performance was comically bad and, unlike Paletta, he is no longer our player.

What kind of comments did people expect about Padelli now he's left other than 'Good luck. You looked s*** in the one game you played'. Which is pretty much all that people have said.
