Nerik Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Corriere Dello Sport reporting that despite Rafa's initial resistance to selling Momo, a 14 million Euro fee has been agreed with Juventus. Also reported that Momo has also agreed personal terms which will see him earn 2-2.5m Euros a year. Don't shoot the messenger..........
alias75 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 wouldn't be surprised to be honest with Mascherano here his game time will be limited and part of this could also be the player not happy that he hasnt figured much at the end of the season. Even if we wanted to keep him you also have to consider the wishes of the player sometimes.
Guest Greasy Belcher Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I doubt it would happen so quick without and prior announcement from the club. Having said that, I've been thinking either Alonso or Momo would be shifting due to the recent additions to the squad.
Guest Sabre Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Although he's got great energy and potential, he's not near the same level as Masch. If he doesn't get to play, why keep him?
cestrianred Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 (edited) £11-12 million? That'll do for me. 14million Euros is about £10million? Edited June 1, 2007 by cestrianred
johngibo YPC Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 £11-12 million? That'll do for me. are you getting it then?Another Parry f*** up
cymrococh Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 are you getting it then?Another Parry f*** upDon't hate the player, hate the clown.
fred Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 are you getting it then?Another Parry f*** up I see how this works now: we get a player we want or sell a player we don't = excellent business by Rafa. We don't get a player or one leaves = Parry f*** up.
Falconhoof Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Excellent business if true. Not sure that fee sounds realistic though.Solid player for us at times, gave his all.
cymrococh Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 This wil f*** up the best midfield in the world song. Xabi Alonso, Lucas from Gremio, Gerrard and Mascherano
sutty Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 This wil f*** up the best midfield in the world song. Sign Deco, and couple him with Kewell
Ronnie Whelan Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 If Momo can sort out his passing game he will be up there with the best in world IMO. He is young and will learn. £10m could prove to be a bargain for Juve if he does develop and this story is to be believed. Was it the Agger interview where he mentioned that Momo had learned any English? If that is the case he must never have settled properly or does not look upon this as a long term thing. If so, lets get people who are here to bring no 19 in the door.
Boca Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Maybe Momo is the odd one out now that we have Mascherano and Lucas. My five year old son will be gutted. After Stevie G, Momo is the only other Liverpool player that he recognises
McBain Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 (edited) €14m is great business if true and also increases the chances of Xabi staying. Edited June 1, 2007 by Mcbain
alias75 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 IF this happens my guess is that its more because the player isnt happy not to be playing more than Rafa wanting to let him go. But this is the one position where we have an abundance of talent and that money could be used to strengthen other areas.
Edvard Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Surely we wouldn't let Momo and Xabi go at te same time? Not forgetting that Zenden has left, if this is true then surely Xabi must be staying put?
Mike Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 (edited) why is 10mill undervalued? Edited June 1, 2007 by Mike
sean Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I love him, but Mascherano is and will be much the superior player in the short and long term. I feel Momo will have his share of injuries and suspensions judging by the way he plays.
matty Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Gazzetta's not reporting this, so it can't be true. It is reporting that juve are looking at Ranieri as next coach though.
