Anyone got a good link for finding old photos 60-70´s from Liverpool FC? I'm going to do quite big prints so the bigger files the better and preferably black and white, but that is not very important. So if anyone knows a good place to find them please let me know. Thanks!

Linton, the Echo got rid of their archive some time ago but they might be able to put you in touch with the photographers themselves, so it's worth a try. Stephen Shakeshaft has got a lot of B&W stuff from the 70s.

 

Popperfoto have got some decent old stuff too, and you can search their archive online

Fyds: Well, I was thinking, you know old black and white with Shanks maybe. There's one with him standing on a podium or something and thousands of fans in the backrground. But generally, cool 60's-70's pics with LFC connection would do it.

Linton - I've sent you one of the old Kop in 1928 with the then new roof put on. I have a hi-res one of that Shanks image above I'll send you on when I dig it out along with others of the kop at different stages pre-seated.

 

I also have a rare tinted colour pic of Shanks on the steps of the Kop on his first day on the job - I'll send that on too as well as some other 60's shots of matches, fans, training etc.

As I am always on the look out for historical pictures I would certainly appreciate if you could send me some pics from Liverpool's glorious past - on the same note if you are looking for some pics or would like pics of certain players/games I could hopefully provide some pics for you as well...

 

Ones of particular interest are the hi-res one of Shanks with his arms out and the rare tinted colour pic of Shanks on the steps of the Kop on his first day on the job.

 

The Kop at different stages pre-seated is also interesting as well - we will soon publish an article on Anfield's history and that could fit well there...

 

A pic of Shankly on the Kop on his first day at Liverpool - that's just fantastic!

there was a picture the other day in (i think) the Echo of Bob Paisley sat on a bench with the European Cup in front of him and a couple of arl fella's in flat caps beside him - it was fkin class! anyone got that?

I sent the colour one of Shanks on the steps to your actual email address - not good to try and send big images via YNWA - not surte it's possible either?

 

Arnie - I'll mail that off to you and the hi-res one in a day or so - I'm putting together a little group for Linton and will do this at the same time. On a side note - does the sould good to know many on here either go back further or have an interest further back than the 'glorious' eighties.

 

Linton - this morning I dug up a whole load of images of 'chewing gum' style cards of LFC players dating from Roger Hunt to Stevie Nicol that someone from another forum sent me a while back and I forgot about - shove in folder, forget! - I'll clean them up and send them on if you like. Some of the older ones are so obviously black and white pics machine coloured it's quite funny - the one of Tony Hately makes him look like a serbian war criminal.
