Mullah_Owen Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 It is going to cost us £18m apparently as quoted in the Liverpool Echo. Where the f*ck do they get these figures from. First it was £10m and now its £18m. Jeez. What next?

Magic8Ball Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 (edited) and how much to make Tevez permanent ? Thought we had agreed a fixed price when we took him on loan, if we hadn't then we're poorly managed it occurs to me with all these links and no activity and this story that someone is creating a dust cloud, the question is, is there anything going on behind it ? Mullah_Owen Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 To be honest I would take the article with a pinch of salt given that the writer thinks we purchased Lucas Leiva for £6m when I am sure it said we paid £10m. Even if it is true, I am still worried that people are quoting a range of prices. I will be mightly p*ssed off if whoever negotiated (Parry?) the loan deal did not agree an option to buy clause.

Guest kaip Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 should the cost come into it............we need him and there's nothing better on the market
BDB Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 based on what I've seen so far, yes worth 18M.. him or carrick?Plus then we'd need a new song for he midfield
MFletcher Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Gremio's official website gave the price as, when converted, £6.2M. So not £10M.
Mr Makaveli Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Question is, is he worth that much if true ? is he worth 18m? yes. yes yes maybe yes
Mike Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 so what if he costs 18 million. thats his price.if we can't afford him we might as well shut up shop and pray for 4th place for ever.
Mullah_Owen Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 I agree we should be ready to pay £18m when Utd paid £18m for Carrick and £20m for Hargreaves. But it would still leave a bitter taste as he was worth no more than £10m when we took him on loan.
Mike Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 you don't think we secured a price when we took him on loan? behave.
RafaShanks Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 First it was £10m and now its £18m. You missed out the £12m from a couple of weeks ago.

RafaShanks Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 It was 10 million euros not pounds And chances are that some of it is achievement based.
Mr Makaveli Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 ehhhhh Ive just been talking to a buddy and after looking into what he said it appears that Mascherano is already a liverpool player. as in we do not infact have him on loan. I dont see anything on the offal that states that he might be on loan.. seems like we own him, anyone got any info? ok have a look at this.. its a wikipedia page but it says this under the liverpool heading : It is widely reported to be an 18 month permanent deal, though a fee and/or other arrangements are as yet unclear. The fee has been rumoured to be £1.5 million, but the Daily Mail have reported that Liverpool bought the player outright from MSI for £10 million. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Javier_Mascherano
Maldini Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 It was always £18m wasn't it? The £10m was from some dodgy article.

With all the stuff going on about him, Tevez and WHU it's not surprising that things are unclear.
stressederic Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Isn't it an 18 month loan deal at the moment anyway? We've still got him for another season, before we need to start scrambling down the back of the sofa for loose change.
