R A Softlad Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Press conference announced. linked with Citeh on Sky.
Magic8Ball Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 whoa didn't see that coming, Man City it is then. wonder how much they'll pay for Cisse ?
Greenoak Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 This does not surprise me. He has failed in the CL. He has matched the previous manager but not taken them any further, dispite having a lot of money to play with. Lyon are the French Chelsea. Expected to win most domestic title and cup and a very good showing in CL. Time to try another mananger. Jose ???
The Hitman Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Mourinho? To Lyon? You've got to be joking, why on earth would he want to go there? To leave Chelsea,he'd have an offer from Madrid or somebody like that.
RafaShanks Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Linked with Citeh on Sky. Please let this be true. He can buy all our crap players Rafa doesn't think are up to it.
Cobs Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Press conference announced. linked with Citeh on Sky.so has Sven
Boca Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 There were rumours that Shinawatra wanted Ged if he took over Man City. With that looking more likely maybe Houllier is coming back to England.
Fagan Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 LYON, France, May 25 (Reuters) - Former France and Liverpool coach Gerard Houllier stepped down as Olympic Lyon coach on Friday. Witnesses told Reuters Houllier had informed his players he was quitting. Houllier, 59, who joined the six-times champions in 2005, helped them win Ligue 1 titles in 2006 and again this year.
Kite Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 so has Sven Dream ticket - Houlier and Sven, one to look after the academy, the other to look after the ladies... (first team can look after itself, like most of Sven's first teams)
MickeyDocs Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 sack rafa! shouldn't this be in the general football forum?
Mike Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 rafa is clearly off after his comments after the gameallez gerard. lets see what he can buy with some proper money now.
whitewidow Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Whatever forum I'd love for him to get the Citeh role and roll the Scum over in a couple of Derbies.... Diouf and Cisse must be crossing their fingers
crisps Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Strange? Yes and no cos Lyon are by far the best team in France and there's no competition at all for them leaguewise, and attracting players capable of winning them the CL to France must be pretty hard, so I suppose he feels he needs a challenge?
Falconhoof Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Ged is coming back to take over a combined Heighway/Rick Parry role. Director of football.
cymrococh Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 (edited) + we are linked to malouda today. Coincidence? je pense pas. Edited May 25, 2007 by Paul Caruso
nvdm Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Yes and no cos Lyon are by far the best team in France and there's no competition at all for them leaguewise, and attracting players capable of winning them the CL to France must be pretty hard, so I suppose he feels he needs a challenge? Surely winning the CL without players "capable" of winning it is a challenge?
R A Softlad Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Ged is coming back to take over a combined Heighway/Rick Parry role. Director of football. I thought that too.
Falconhoof Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 He'd be perfect for that role, unlikely as it is, I could really see it working out.
