Alonso had a shot that went just wide but I think that was in the first half.

 

The shot I originally meant was right at the end. If I remember rightly it sat up for Stevie just outside of the box. Would have been similar to the FA Cup final, although probably not so far out. He caught it well but it was blocked, came back out and then Alonso put it out of play looking for someone on the right.

Cant remember feeling as low recently as I did when Stevie missed the chance at 1-0. Did all the hard work but should've done so much better with the shot with Dida saved. Gutted

For a player with Stevie's ability it really was a crap shot. Thats got to be one of the only times I've ever seen Stevie try to guide the ball into the net instead of blast it through the keeper. Bit of a Riise move too to not try it with his left as it was the better angle no one's blaming him or any of the team for the loss but he really could have done better as we've seen him do it before and thats why people are bringing it up.

 

As far as the shot the TC was talking about I thought it was too good to be true and obviously it was as it was blocked but it's attempts like that which made me mad that the last 15 seconds or so weren't played (not that it's in the rules that all the added time has to be played I don't want to start that argument again.) because with Stevie or even Riise on the pitch you never know when a last second blaster could hit the back of the net.
