matty Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 is Fandel, the German. He's reffed us three times, we've never won. He's reffed Milan five times. They've always won. (Agr)
magneto Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Wish we had Didi in our team. I always find it useful if we had 1 player who could speak the Referee's language to ensure that a break down in communication doesn't happen. I am now officially bricking it.
Tosh Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 But is OK - apart from the results that is? I can't remember the ref in the Barca home game (for example)
Mullah_Owen Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 I think you need to go back and check if Rafa was the manager on each of those occassions.
Sion Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 (edited) I think you need to go back and check if Rafa was the manager on each of those occassions. He reffed our 'loss' to Barca in the last 16. As well as our 0-0 away group stage draw with Chelsea last year The other one was a 2-0 loss to Valencia 2002/03 season. Edited May 21, 2007 by Sion

fred Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 He reffed our 'loss' to Barca in the last 16. That's what I thought - seem to remember he did OK that night. Or maybe I should say I don't remember anything controversial against us, which is not quite the same thing...

So he actually featured on three occasions where the result went well for Rafa, for those worried by the superstitious angle. More importantly though, I don't think he was that great in the Barca game from memory.

matty Posted May 21, 2007 Author Posted May 21, 2007 Remember this one well, we were feckin terrible that night.. Or Valencia were feckin' brilliant....
Mr Makaveli Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 And who was their manager? some unknown t***. Hope he manages some small team now.
Nerik Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 If I remember well despite being mauled by Valencia we had a decent penalty shout turned down when Owen raced into their box and was tripped.

So basically for Liverpool Football Club he's been sh*t but he's not been bad for Rafa. Not much of an omen is it or is it?
