They were talking behind me and one said

Really looking forward to Sunday. I'm in the David Speedie suite with Peter Reid.

I dunno why, but I found that very funny.

A Chelsea fan at work is upset with me because I said I wouldn't be overly upset if United won the double this year. He thinks I should want them to win. He doesn't understand the level of schadenfreude involved in watching a £500million squad having nothing to show for its efforts but a Carling Cup win.

You know it makes sense. :)

so am i. sort your life out, mao.

Ban Mao!

And Murph, obviously

How would an FA Cup win dilute the c**** gloating anymore than they already are? Two trophies might justify Chelsea's season to the deluded morons who manage the place and that wouldn't be good.

It comes from worrying more about Chelsea's future threat to no.19 than Utds.

I hate the whole f***ing lot of them and unlike half this forum I don't engage in any banter with the f*****s, so up yours cobs. They're all c****, but the jammy ghits have just picked up no.16 and nothing will depress the feckers until next season. So seeing Chelsea fans miserable is a decent trade off. Not like for like, but acceptable.

Much though I dislike Chelsea, I'll be cheering them on in the cup final.

For one thing we've put one over on them three seasons running in semi finals now, so I feel no further need to see them suffer anymore.

United are, and always will be the hated enemy.

I'm upset with you too.

Got to be Chelsea for the 3rd Place Playoff!

Dunno. I was pretty depressed after we lost the 77 FA Cup final (but then I was a kid).

i'm struggling to comprehend what speedie did for chelsea to merit the club naming a suite after him. are they that bereft of ideas or do they have hundreds of such suites at stamford bridge?

first player to score a hat-trick in a Wembley Cup Final since Geoff Hurst in 1966

just another chapter in Chelsea's mighty history

I know this English girl here - she's only 21 but a football fan. She looked at me incredulously when I told here Peter Reid and Sam Allardyce used to be players.

Exactly

Is the Speedie suite next to the Bogarde Lounge?

I love the inconruosness of Peter Reid being in there as well. It sounds like an Alan Partridge thing.

Unless they're playing the s****. Then its not as funny.

Was the suite built in the early 90s? At which time having scored at least one goal probably got any Chelsea player classified as a 'legend'.

It'd be nice if they wrote to Speedie telling him "in the light of recent events, the David Speedie suite is being renamed the Gianfranco Zola suite"
