Will Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Have been following the thread this evening. If the tests keep getting similar results I wouldnt like to be Parry on SundayWhy? If the answer is really 17,000 allocation4,000 to pre-qualifying fancards6,600-ish available in the ballot6,400 to 'other sources' Seems fairly reasonable to me, as "other sources" presumably includes corporates, shareholders and staff/players/etc
Gunga Din Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 it looks like the club have not been very fair with this. it doesnt seem like very many of the 17000 tickets went into the ballot. it will be interesting to see what the final results are
Gomez Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Proof of what? That UEFA haven't given us enough tickets?
Gunga Din Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Why? How many can go into the ballot when you take out those with 7+, shareholders, corporates and staff? 6400 to "Other Sources" is a huge nymber Will, more than a 3rd of the total allocation. doesnt seem right to me at allWell, I expect at least a third of that is shareholders, and at least a third is corporates
Gunga Din Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Huh? How many can go into the ballot when you take out those with 7+, shareholders, corporates and staff? why give corporates preference over season ticket holders when season ticket holders dont get preference over ordinary fan card holders? the whole thing stinks
jfogarty Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Why? Will Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 why give corporates preference over season ticket holders when season ticket holders dont get preference over ordinary fan card holders? the whole thing stinksCorporates always get preference over STH 6400 to other sources is very high thats whyHow many shareholders and corporate STHs do you think we have?
Koller49 Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Proof of what? That UEFA haven't given us enough tickets? Maybe proof that over a third of our fans allocation has gone to 'other sources' within the club? Corporates already get 20,000 tickets in the stadium and we want to give even more away from our own allocation. Generosity is great!
Gomez Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 why give corporates preference over season ticket holders? Contractual obligations?
Gunga Din Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Corporates always get preference over STHHow many shareholders and corporate STHs do you think we have? and season ticket holders always did get preference over non season ticket holders
Will Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Maybe proof that over a third of our fans allocation has gone to 'other sources' within the club? Corporates already get 20,000 tickets in the stadium and we want to give even more away from our own allocation. Generosity is great! Not our corporate STHs though! Completely different thing
Gunga Din Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Contractual obligations? do Corportate ticket holders get contracts saying they gt preference for final tickets? do they f*** its all a big f***ing con, which has left thousands of genuine fans with no tickets, while touts are running about making a fortune. the whole thing, from top to bottom stinks the place out
Will Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 and season ticket holders always did get preference over non season ticket holdersTrue - that wouldn't change the allocation though would it?
jfogarty Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Corporates always get preference over STHHow many shareholders and corporate STHs do you think we have? 2500 shareholders would be my guess. No idea about corporate STHs but they should not get any privelage over a regular ST holders. Dont recall seeing this happen before
Guest Marshy Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 I think our 17,000 allocation should have ALL gone to our clubs fab super duper loyal season ticket holders - they are very special people and should be honoured for their supreme loyalty.
Gunga Din Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 True - that wouldn't change the allocation though would it? no, but it would give Season ticket holders a better chance of getting tickets, after all, its season ticket holders who generally speaking, go to most games. with this system, people are getting to Athens on the basis of buying tickets to 6 games, whiole some people may have bought tickets to 50 games and arent getting a ticket
Will Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 No idea about corporate STHs but they should not get any privelage over a regular ST holders. Dont recall seeing this happen beforeI suspect they do and always have - but perhaps one of our corporate STHs can let us know its all a big f***ing con, which has left thousands of genuine fans with no tickets, while touts are running about making a fortune. the whole thing, from top to bottom stinks the place outWhy aren't Corporate STHs genuine fans?
Gomez Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Maybe proof that over a third of our fans allocation has gone to 'other sources' within the club? Corporates already get 20,000 tickets in the stadium and we want to give even more away from our own allocation. Generosity is great! That would be Sponsors of UEFA, the LFC ones will go to corporate sponsors of Liverpool. I agree that 20'000 is way too much, but the fault is UEFA not LFC, I am sure we are obliged to give the our corporates x amount of tickets because of the large sums of money they give us each season (including ones where we don't get to finals) If UEFA had given us the 30'000 they should have done it would not have been a problem. The real point is only 34'000 seats in a 63'000 seater stadium are going to be attainable by the average fan of both clubs. It is clear when we only get 17'000 tickets and we have 30'000 season ticket holders there are going to be a lot of p*ssed of people. But I think all this slagging off a Parry etc is really missing the point.
Gunga Din Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 I think our 17,000 allocation should have ALL gone to our clubs fab super duper loyal season ticket holders - they are very special people and should be honoured for their supreme loyalty. no one is saying that, are they, what i'm saying is that teh 17000 who went to most games throughout the season should get a ticket, and Season ticket holders should get preference
Will Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Just as a point of interest, I found this in the FA Cup Final Selling Arrangements - "The Corporate Sales Department will be writing to all Members to advise them on their ticket allocation. "
Gunga Din Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Why aren't Corporate STHs genuine fans? where did i say Corporate STH's werent genuine fans? i'll tell you straight up why they were looked after there is no major waiting list for Corporate ST's. if they piss them all off they might not get enough people to buy them next season.with ordinary season ticket holders, they know they can treat them like s*** because if they dont want to renew it, there are many thousands willing to step in and take their place Just as a point of interest, I found this in the FA Cup Final Selling Arrangements - "The Corporate Sales Department will be writing to all Members to advise them on their ticket allocation. " which has the sum total of f*** all to do with the way this debacle has been handled
Will Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 where did i say Corporate STH's werent genuine fans?OK - reread what you said - sorry, I misinterpreted you! which has the sum total of f*** all to do with the way this debacle has been handledThat is why I said "just as a point of interest" My only point for posting it was to show that Corporate STHs have always got tickets for Finals i'll tell you straight up why they were looked after there is no major waiting list for Corporate ST's. if they piss them all off they might not get enough people to buy them next season.with ordinary season ticket holders, they know they can treat them like s*** because if they dont want to renew it, there are many thousands willing to step in and take their placeHmm, I (probably like you) have no idea about the waiting list to be a Corporate STH - though I hope there is a big one, otherwise why would we be planning shedloads more Corporate facilities at the new stadium? If ordinary STHs deserve more priority due to their extra commitment to the club (up-front cash and more games), then why not Corprate STHs (even more cash and who knows about games)
