RafaShanks Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Was never likely to come back. Good luck and all the best Pongo and thanks for your vital contributions a couple of years ago.
Zoob Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I assume the price is so low because it was agreed before the loan period started? Considering how many goals he's scored, 4 million euros seems something of a bargain. Anyone remember how much he cost to begin with?
Ronnie Whelan Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I wish him all the best. He was and still is quite promising, but the club have moved on.
RafaShanks Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Anyone remember how much he cost to begin with? £6m for him and Le Tallec.
Raj Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Good luck to the lad. Decent player, but not good enough for us at the moment, imo. Will remember him for his performances against Olympiakos and Luton.
DonRafa Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Good for him! La Liga seems to suit him well All the best, thanks for those vital goals you scored, Pongy my dear
Gilps Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 (edited) Good luck to the lad. Thanks for Olympiakos, Luton and that quiet night in Shepherd's Bush. Edited May 4, 2007 by Gilps
Cunny Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 £6m for him and Le Tallec. Le Gems Le Tallec won't fetch anywhere near that price when he is sold.
McBain Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Got back what we paid Add it to the warchest for the summer swoops
Eiler99 Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Le Gems Le Tallec won't fetch anywhere near that price when he is sold. Completely forgot that he is still on our books. Had conviced myself that we'd sold him for some reason.
Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Top 3 Pongolle moments 3. That turn against Arsenal at Anfield2. The goal and assist against Olympiakos1. Triggering the comeback against Luton which made last year's FA Cup triumph possible
Boca Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Good luck to the lad. Thanks for Olympiakos, Luton and that quiet night in Shepherd's Bush.
RafaShanks Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Completely forgot that he is still on our books. Had conviced myself that we'd sold him for some reason. Just him and Djibs left.
fred milne Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Somewhere out in cyberspace is a very unhappy spider-neil......
sutty Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Somewhere out in cyberspace is a very unhappy spider-neil......That's always true.
fred milne Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 That's always true.Perhaps he's dusting-off his old Hamann posts to recycle and use again with Mascherano.
Leo No.8 Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 (edited) Good price for them considering his performances this year. I felt we may get a little more, but it's more money for Rafa in the summer and if the price was agreed at the start of the loan then I don't suppose there was anything we could do. He's a good little player but not of the level we need to improve us now, so there was no chance of him coming back for next season anyway. Good luck to him in Spain, his attitude always seemed pretty good in comparison to that tool of a cousin of his. Edited May 4, 2007 by Leo No.8
sutty Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Perhaps he's dusting-off his old Hamann posts to recycle and use again with Mascherano. That's been a real labour saving transfer for him.
