Guest Linton Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Who is a better RM in England? Lennon? Yeah, right... Feck off McLooser. Here's to Jermaine lad, fine fine crosser of the ball and magician on the right side. Lets heve it for the superhaircut that is Jermaine! COME ON!!!!
Guest JV Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Excellent game from the lad. Well proud of him. Had an excellent interview aswell. Hope he goes from strength to strength.
surf Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Pennant had a great game, he really did. Thought he was our best player in the first half, whipping in those crosses.
Bo Benn Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 He seems to get better for every game. Alves/Simao/etc. might face some time on the bench if they're coming at all next season.
Hassony Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 if he continues like he has done in the last 3 months, 6m will be an excellent bargain
Magic8Ball Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 When he was at Birmingham I was saying over and over again, he's what we need on our RHS but he started so slowly I was kinda embarrassed for the guyhe especially seemed in awe of Gerrard - Since Jan though I think he's found his feet at the club and as his confidence has soared so have his displays, I expect more from Pennant both for the rest of this season and next season I hope he can fulfill his potential here
Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Barnes, I mean Pennant put in a great shift. We need to find a Pennant for the left.
rikf Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 We already have one, his name begins with K and ends with L
Cunny Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 another quality performancegave Cole a torrid timekeep up the good work and improvement

Maldini Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 He's been our best player in Europe this season, he's been great in almost every match. It was his league form before Christmas that let him down, but that seems to be turning around too. Still more to come from him I think. He gave "The best left back in the world " a horrible time tonight
Conor Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Dark Matter said: Shouldn`t have taken him off. I think he was injured slightly.. And I have to say he has been outstanding since Christmas. In the right position of the majority of the time and his ball retention is top notch. I think a lot of defenders really fear him. As said before. If he continues like this there is no way we need another Right midfielder. He has the quality to make it at this level as his is proving tome and time again. Well in Jermaine. Keep living the dream.
Cheesecake Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 touch, awareness and delivery were exceptional tonight.Never seen him play that good!the number of times he controlled a ball dad and took on the fullback was fantasticAwesome display, hope this injury is only tiredness
alias75 Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 He was the one signing this season id didn't think would make it but hes proved me wrong, hes improved as the seasons gone on which is what you'd expect for a new player at a new club. On current form he has to be in the first team his delivery is very good and he should hopefully only get better next season. I thought we'd wasted all that money based on his first few games but hes looking like a good signing.
Leo No.8 Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 I think to see the level of improvement in Pennant, you'd just have to watch tapes of tonight's game and the league match early in the season at Stamford Bridge. Cole had him in his pocket back then; Pennant lacked the confidence to run at him and spent most of the game cutting inside and giving it back to our central midfielders; they were actually leaving Pennant in space and allowing him to get plenty of the ball in that game he looked so ineffective. Now, after a run of fine performances he's full of confidence and not afraid to impose himself on a full-back. He gave Cole a really tough time tonight, and make no mistake about it Cole is a very, very good left-back. Pennant has been one of the biggest plusses of 2007 so far; I wanted him here but had started to doubt whether he had the mental game to move up a level and make the most of his ability, but he's really come good with Rafa guiding him. Pennant will be a valuable member of the squad next season I think, whoever comes in. He's really starting to show just how much ability he's got, and will hopefully keep working hard to improve and keep believing in himself from now on...
KD07 Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Everytime he whips in a ball into the box, I get that same feeling (in a good way) whenever Beckham did the same to us pre-Hyypia.
floyd the barber Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 ummmmmm thought he was failry average tonight.....he had an excellent 10 mins in the 2nd half, which might be blinding the view of some....but other than that...i thought he was wastefull.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 (edited) he had a poor spell, but I think there was a clear pattern (which also tends to be the case with Garcia) - when we were pressuring them and he got the ball in the final third, he was excellent. When we played deeper, he was anonymous.Overall I think he played really well. Loved the way he was closed down by two defenders down by the corner flag, some quick foot work and he ran right past Cole down the byline. Would have liked to see him take his chance at goal though. Well done lad.
honourablegeorge Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Thought it was his best game for us - I've been resolutely unconvinced for a long time now, but I'm softening.
sean Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Thought he had a decent duel with Cole, one which both relished from the outset. certainly wasn't afraid to run him outside, he's a good little player is Pennant. Much better shape when he's out right as opposed to SG.
