Guest Super Jari Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Maybe a dodgy source but found this. A spanish link: http://www.mercafutbol.com/noticias.asp?ct=372&nt=27626 And the Dodgy translation is............. Flavorful Simao will play the next season in the Liverpool or, at least, therefore it confirms the Sport newspaper that aims that an authorized source of the English club would have revealed that the draftee of Simao by the Liverpool already is done. Reds will pay 15 million euros to the Benfica to take to Simao until Anfield Road and Benítez will see fulfilled the request that took doing a long time ago. The forward luso, on the other hand, will put aim, this way, to his stage in a Benfica in which he has shone with own light during these last six seasons.
Magic8Ball Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 ( if true ) oh dear I was rather hoping we would be in for "better " wingers than that
Falconhoof Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 (edited) decent value at that price, doubt its true though. Edited April 30, 2007 by Graham
CarraLegend Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 ( if true ) oh dear I was rather hoping we would be in for "better " wingers than that Would you prefer him if he scored a lot less goals but done some more stepovers?
Gally Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Wouldn't be suprised by this.. he is a very Rafa style player.. should improve our set pieces for one thing..
Gomez Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 The return of the Simao stories make me think that Simao is the first choice out of himself and Alves. And now we have the money, Rafa will get his first choice. From the little I've seen of them both, Alves looks the better player.
floyd Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 (edited) Would you prefer him if he scored a lot less goals but done some more stepovers?Leading goalscorer in the Portugese league. Not bad for a winger Edited April 30, 2007 by floyd

Logic Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Leading goalscorer in the Porugese league. Not bad for a winger81 goals in 213 games for Benfica as well (according to Wikipedia). Pretty good I'd say.
yellow jumper Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Simao I don't think this is true. sabrosa to be nailed on.
CarraLegend Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Heres the original source by the look of it http://www.sport.es/default.asp?idpublicac...06&h=070425
Huyton_Red Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 From that dodgy translation aren't they saying that the sports newspaper that is an authorised source for LFC said it, ie the echo So its all b'ollocks because the echo have said no such thing
Magic8Ball Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Would you prefer him if he scored a lot less goals but done some more stepovers?boy are you trying to be inflamatory - I just wanted a winger that has balance, pace, skill and scores lots of goals - Simao when I've seen him has lacked most of these qualities

There seems to be this thing that unless you do a billion stepovers everytime you get the ball then you cant be skillful. He's got balance, he can beat players, he's quick enough without being Cisse/Bellamy like and most importantly scores and sets up f***ing loads. I really dont see peoples problem. Fair enough not everyone will rate him but some of the reasoning is laughable.

I'd suggest watching him more might be the way to go.

Or maybe you are and are out of work DUE TO HAVING NO IDEA
ManxRed Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 I saw Rick Parry at a Nandos the other day.. Please let this be true.

He's just not been that impressive on the few occassions I've seen him, I'm more than happy to revise my opinion given more opportunities to watch him play

fred milne Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 (edited) Do people think his game is suited to English football? Admittedly I've not seen much of him but he looks physically very slight and maybe not blessed with blinding pace to compensate. Edited April 30, 2007 by fred milne
psl Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 So, should that info be correct, how much less is that to what Benfica changed their mind and determined wasn't enough last time?
