Armin_Tamzarian Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 One of my favourite games from the golden age of Computer gaming (ie when they first came out) was Mike Singleton's 'The Lords of Midnight'. To anyone raised on Final Fantasy XXX or WiiZelda the stunning graphics of the C64 and Speccy originals are doubtless laughable: Suffice to say in those simpler times we felt the very portal of reality had opened up on our tv screens. The game itself was strategy based, a true original. I spent hours and hours at the computer studying the map of the land of Midnight and that was just waiting for the thing to load. Like many other classics of their generation it's now been lovingly ported to the PC. There's a couple of different versions available. http://www.icemark.com/ has one and this onehas up to date graphics. However the one which caught my interest was a version which allowed you to play online against other trapped in the past time wasters. It's far better than the original, really works as a multiplayer. It's turn based so you play when you want to/ the boss is out for the day. There's a forum setup to help. If you want to try it you should register at both, but don't use a hotmail address as it won't work. The easiest way to play the game is to load this program: http://www.icemark.com/midnightmu_cm/Midni..._setup_v177.msi which has the maps etc built in. Should any of you venture into this retrogame heaven the challenge from Rawk is hereby laid down.
