We should always be looking to improve our team, but I can't understand why people complain about players taking time to settle then what to change a player that has only had one season with us! I think we will see the best of Bellamy next year.

 

IMO the only forward to be replaced will be Fowler, leaving us with 5 forwards Crouch, Bellamy, Kuyt, Voronin and a big summer buy.

It would be impossible to keep them all happy, Crouch probably feels he isn't playing enough games as it is - that's without a top class striker and another player who would expect to get his fair share of games unlike Fowler.

Also with voronin, Crouch and Kuyt - it makes sense for Bellamy to leave if a new Striker is brought in

I think we should make a profit, and a decent one at that. Spurs want at least £10m for Defoe, and he's better than him. I'd say he's worth £8/9m at least to someone like Aston Villa or Portsmouth. I think Mark Hughes will be too stubborn to pay us more than what he got for him, though there's always the chance we want a part-ex for a Riise-ite (Gamst Pedersen). He's a highlights player for sure, average performances on the whole, popping up with the odd magical goal.

He had found his level at Newcastle and Blackburn, he's out of his depth now and is unlikely to improve next season.

 

Hope we get a bidding war between Blackburn and Villa. Will go a long way towards gwtting a really top striker.

Getting someone like Pedersen allows us to rest Kewell and not put so much pressure on Insua, Leto, Gonzales

it also allows us to use Kewell centrally as an AM when Gerrard isnt playing or is playing traditional CM style

I think he's had a decent season and for many of our away games has been the biggest threat we've posed. But i think his time is coming to an end. Rafa is never shy of shifting out his own signings if he thinks he can get someone better in and i've no doubt we'll be looking at strikers better than he in the summer

 

If we get more than we paid then it'll be considered a decent deal all round
