Nebraska Red Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 For those of you who rely on the web for much of your live footy, get the latest Spocast upgrade. I don't know what they have done, but the quality is amazing, no buffering and a superb picture. You can now detach the info page and leave the viewing screen locked in place.
kacangpool Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 thanks for that. especially since it's before the next CL match.
Frosty Jack Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Hey NR, just installed it but quality and buffering doesnt look any different to me which channel were you using? cheers
Guest Linton Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Hey NR, just installed it but quality and buffering doesnt look any different to me which channel were you using? cheers Agree I can't see the difference?
Owen1978 Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 It still buffers, but buffering is a requirement for any streaming over the internet otherwise the feed would stutter all the time if you connection is not fast enough or if its taking a pounding.

I agree, it's fecking incredible. Buffering non existent yesterday watching the Wigan game
Guest Si Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 I watched the Wigan game pre-update and the quality was superb - think it was just a generally good feed.
Sion Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 If you open ur stream 10-15 minutes before kick off and leave it in the background it normally has stopped stalling/buffering at all by kick off.
meepins Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Some programs allow you the option of how much to buffer so it isn't so choppy. I increased mine by a good few seconds and it cleared up the stutter straight away.
Zoob Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 I read somewhere about the latest version of Sopcast containing some unpleasant software that was re-directing web pages, and doing other naughty stuff. I assume none of you have had any such issues?
Frosty Jack Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 I never had a problem with buffering once the stream was up and running, after a couple of minutes, but on the chinese sports channels i saw no increase in picture quality, however i tried some of the other general channels and they looked higher res, but i'd never tried them before, so no idea if improved

lawrie Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Quite miffed actually. The Wigan game was pretty awful on my computer

I'm having to use sopcast under Windows on Parallels. Is that what you are doing or have you found an OSX version of the SOP client?
