KopSpice Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Apparently has left the club with immediate effect according to BBC Sport website. LINK

Sion Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 He's obviously mad at them for accepting a bid for Henry...from us.
smithdown Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Already had the first dreary text from a deluded manc/fcum customer about 'ownership of the club'.
Guz Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Paves the way for the yanks to come back in. Doesnt it do the opposite? I thought Dein was the only one in favour of selling?
Zoob Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Doesnt it do the opposite? I thought Dein was the only one in favour of selling? Indeed. And apparently those who own shares in the club are being asked to sign something to the effect that they will not be able to sell any of their shares to a foreign bidder in the next year...
Gomez Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Indeed. And apparently those who own shares in the club are being asked to sign something to the effect that they will not be able to sell any of their shares to a foreign bidder in the next year... What's the point in that? Surely you can't force shareholders to do that so they only reason they'd sign up would be if they weren't intending to sell any way. It's a big loss for arsenal that, I can't stand the man as I think he abused his power at the FA, but he has done very well for arsenal, hope they end up with a risdale in charge.
Ostrich Man Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Already had the first dreary text from a deluded manc/fcum customer about 'ownership of the club'.your best mate one?
smithdown Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 your best mate one? Aye. They've messed his head up with their strange beliefs.
smithdown Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Yeah but...he has to give his lot money or they don't let him in.
Magic8Ball Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Paves the way for the yanks to come back in.thats what I thought,
Ostrich Man Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Yeah but...he has to give his lot money or they don't let him in.you dont contribute?

Guess it's more a case of agreement not to sell shares rather than signing anything, which I'm sure couldn't be binding anyway.Didn't realise Dein owned 14.5% of Arsenal shares... More info here "In the light of recent speculation with regards to the ownership of the club, the remaining board members, who together own 45.45 of the issue share capital of the company, would like to reassure the supporters, shareholders and employees of Arsenal Football Club that they remain long-term holders of their interests in the club. agree that it's a huge loss for Arsenal, and I think most Arsenal fans will feel this way too. they like Dein and dislike Hill-wood from what I've heard.
floyd Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Didn't realise Dein owned 14.5% of Arsenal shares...And apparently Hill-Wood owns only 0.8% of the club
Guz Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 I dont know too much about Arsenal but it just seems like a case of waiting 12 months to see what situation they find themselves in and deciding what to do then. If they're in the same boat again next season and fighting to finish 4th then they might think it's time to sell up and get some extra investment on the pitch. Kinda like a reverse to us as they have the stadium and may end up realising they dont have enough money for the stadium + sustained investment into the team wheras we were the opposite.
Ronnie Whelan Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 There is talk this morning that Wenger will sign a new contract until the situation is fully explained to him. Apparently the Dein resignation took him by surprise.

Apparently the Dein resignation took him by surprise. That was meant to be "not sign a new contract", kinda changes the angle of the post.
