Lee W Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Valued at Twenty Million Great British Pounds I bet they pay it aswell.
Lee W Posted April 12, 2007 Author Posted April 12, 2007 good player, will improve them Of course, but the price is just bonkers. Still better value than Carrick I suppose.
sutty Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 good player, will improve them Do you rate Richardson as well, just because he's played for England? Where will Hargreaves play?
Sion Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Bit silly no? Who doesn't play? Scholes or Carrick? I'd guess Carrick but if United win a lot this season his price will have risen to £18m. An expensive sub/reserve.
Guest Cameron Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 He's no better than Fletcher! What a waste of money

I'd guess Carrick but if United win a lot this season his price will have risen to £18m. An expensive sub/reserve. you need more than one good player in each position, and Scholes will need to be replaced at some point anyway price is irrelevant if they can afford it. As Cobs says, he'll improve them - and that's all that matters
smithdown Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 price is irrelevant if they can afford it. So much for all that sh*te they bleated on about glazer.
Cobs Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Do you rate Richardson as well, just because he's played for England? Where will Hargreaves play?saw Richardson the other week for the U21s - he was feckin appalling Hargreaves will play centre mid - sometimes with Carrick sometimes with Scholes - gives them the option of playing 4231 too So much for all that sh*te they bleated on about glazer.wasn't just them though, was it?
Gomez Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 He's no better than Fletcher! What a waste of money He's much better than fletcher, but he's not that good, certainly for £20m they can do a lot better (like we did with Mascherano)I think he is better than Carrick, but can't really see him improving them that much, I'd be quite happy if they wasted a sizable chunk of their limited transfer budget on him.

And Defoe...rumours they want him.
Gomez Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 price is irrelevant if they can afford it. As Cobs says, he'll improve them - and that's all that matters No it isn't, unless they suddenly have an unlimited budget like the chavs, then price is very relevant. Did you learn nothing from the Alves or Kuyt situation we had? If he is the only player they want and have the money, then fair enough, but if they need other players then it is important.
Benitez Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 It's not really important though, I doubt Manc fans are worrying too much. They have money, hey have spent huge amounts on individual players for a number of years, and they haven't done so bad from it. And they probably won't really need loads of other players anyway.
Gilps Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Where will Hargreaves play? Be any two from him, Carrick and Scholes I'd have thought. Being able to rotate in the middle without having to resort to Fletcher or O'Shea ought to improve them.
Guest Scot Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Be any two from him, Carrick and Scholes I'd have thought. Being able to rotate in the middle without having to resort to Fletcher or O'Shea ought to improve them. Right. Buying Carrick and Vidic was madness too but, so far, they seem to be getting away with it...
Cobs Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Right. Buying Carrick and Vidic was madness too but, so far, they seem to be getting away with it...all their players are rubbish, they're a spent force
The Hitman Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 And Defoe...rumours they want him.Andy Cole Mk II Not a great striker, but a decent one,and with the amount of goals they create, would score a hatful.
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 If he is the only player they want and have the money, then fair enough, but if they need other players then it is important. if they decide to buy him at that price, then it means they think that's the best way to improve their sqaud with their current budget I think their manager may have thought it through
Gomez Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 I think their manager may have thought it through If he'd have thought it through, why wasn't he in for Mascherano in January? A similar player but much, much better. Also half the price and younger. Why was he fuming when we were allowed to sign him?

Earl Hafler Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 I think Carrick must be one of those Magic Eye tests. I just don't see it.

Cobs Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 (edited) Possibly he just likes Hargreaves?also thought he said he believed the rules prohibited mascherano moving to another PL club, Rafa stole a march on him. but as you say, he may just want Hargreaves. Edited April 12, 2007 by Cobs

That's maybe him just being a bitter old cn*t. Doesn't mean he'd want Javier. Doesn't matter either way.
