anfield11 Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Just looked around all the major European leagues and it's a struggle to find any player that is currently at 20+ goals, or will likely finish that high. Is this now a myth due to so much squad rotation, that a player just can't play enough to hit those targets? Many of the players linked to us Villa, Torres, Klose etc. etc. are well short and not getting much more than our current crop. One exception......Alves, playing for a 6th place side. Anyone heard or know anything of him? http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/stats...784&cc=5901
Falconhoof Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Our strikers haven't been sharp enough in the box. Anyone can see that, but the problem is who to buy. The key for Rush and Aldridge was the service they had. If we can get a player like Dalglish or a Barnes then Crouch and Kuyt would have a comfortable 10 more goals per season IMO.

Paul Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 I think there is a genuine shortage of top quality strikers throughout Europe. However, I don't think this is our main problem - we need more creativity and guile in the final third.
