Guest Ant Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Was just listening to a football phone in and someone made the suggestion of Andy Johnson of Everton perhaps being a good buy in the summer, and it caught my interest, well let's look at the facts... He plays at a mediocre Team and plays quite well, dare I say more EFFECTIVE then Kuyt He is a proven goal scorer in the league He plays for the s**** and it would be very funny to see him join us He is a t*** I for one believe we do need a proven Premierleague Goal scorer, and in my view the only the only people around that fit the bill are.. Owen-Injured but I believe he will come back and be as good as ever, would love to see him backHenry-Reports suggest Arsenal may let him go, perhaps a rather big offer could entice him Van Nistlerooy-Scored countless goals per season for the Mancs, i'd imagine not entirely happy at Madrid, but then again he is clocking on... I don't want a European Striker I want someone that has scored goals week in week out in this league, and Andy Johnson with better players around him, wouldn't nessesary be a bad buy...In that perspective...
Guz Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 How many more league goals has he got than Crouch and Kuyt? Can't be many (if any)?

The same guy that has scored 1 more than Kuyt?
Lee W Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Quality player. Wouldn't mind one bit if we signed him. Think his game would go up a few levels with us aswell.
Guest Ant Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I mean Kuyt for all his work rate and ethic is a monster, but SOMETIMES lacks the quality in the final 3rd in the passage of play and can be fustrating....Don't get me wrong I fecking adore the guy However with many players over the past few years, like Crouch and Mascherano they have performed better with better players, and at BIGGER clubs...
Hassony Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Quality player. Wouldn't mind one bit if we signed him.Think his game would go up a few levels with us aswell.this is always mentioned when a player from a smaller club is linked with us, but there is no gurantee that this will be the case
Maldini Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 If we were going to sign him it would have been (some would say should) have been last summer instead of Bellamy
Stanley Leisure Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Scores a lot of penalties, i'll give him that.
floyd the barber Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 if we are to seriously mount a strong challenge for the premiership, we need someone far better than johnson..who is not in the same quality bracket as the likes of Rooney,Drogba....or even Tevez, yep id much rather Tevez..a similar player to Rooney with a pinch of craig bellamy.
Coyler Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Knowledgeable Irish poster Maldini has put the thread to bed, factually. Holistically, Kuijt is precisely one-and-a-half times the player that knowledgeable Scouse poster Knox Harrington's beau is.
Hassony Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Bellamy is on Johnson's level of ability.and we are (hopefully) looking to replace bellamy with someone who is better
surf Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 The only reason to sign Johnson is to piss Everton off, ability wise he's no improvement on what we already have.
Guest RedIsMyColour Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I certainly don't want the see the bald git join us.
Guest sniffer Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 this is always mentioned when a player from a smaller club is linked with us, but there is no gurantee that this will be the case Agreed. If you can think of Andy Johnson, then why not Jamie Cureton?? I'd venture to say he's scored more goals than Johnson.....
Dee Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 nah, feck the divin c*** - Tevez will be better, and don't forget Lennon
Guest RedIsMyColour Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I think me lad has been on the source Hmmmm, things people will do for a bit of transfer gossip
Guest Snorky Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Hmmmm, things people will do for a bit of transfer gossip Takes after his mum.
Chili Palmer Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I think alot of people are being very unfair on Kuyt, he came in after pre season and has barely had a rest since. I think the buzz of moving to Liverpool give him the extra boost in the first few weeks of the season and we saw his class, since then the pace has caught up on him, but give him a rest in the summer and a full pre season and I think we will see the class again. Johnson is good but he plays in every game and hasn't scored much more than our forwards who are usually rotated. Would still do it to piss of the blues**** tho...
Coyler Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I don't think there's anything wrong with Dirk at all apart from the fact that he must be jacked already (due in no small part to some of the failings of the team in general). He's going to be a total legend.
Cobs Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 a front line of Berbatov and Johnson next year and No.19 will be ours
