Ed the Wool Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I know that was the Mancs. I hate them as much as the next man.But what I've just seen was f***ing disgusting. And I'm afraid it reminded me exactly of what I saw in 1985, which we were blamed for. Someone needs to make a stand on this. A total disgrace.
floyd Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 (edited) 10 minutes in and singing about us.Fvc k em Edited April 4, 2007 by floyd
Guest RedLegend Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 If you charge at a barrier manned by Italian cops you're going to get a pasting.
SkippyjonJones Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 and those loverly Roma fans. how many times have Roma been involved in violence - especially against English clubs?
Swipe Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 The Italian police kicking the s*** out of them (when they where on the ground) was repulsive, but Richard Keys trying to claim that it was only Roma fans goading their opposites was laughable. They were both at it. Doesn't excuse the brutality of the Italian cops (who always seem up for it) but Sky were clutching at straws on that one. Roma fans may be more aggressive, but there was provocation from both sides.
Nebraska Red Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 we are such a caring bunch aren't we? as usual, the Mancs were singing about us early on and it just made me laugh. everyone of those who went were warned about staying out of trouble, and what do they do? charge the local police.

uppsala Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 That was f**kin disgusting! Sky have just shown clips of a woman being smashed ovr the head with a batton and the fella next to her getting cracked in the skull while he's nearlt unconcious and bleeding anway. BAN THE ITALIANS UEFA!!
Swipe Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I think the behaviour of both fans and the behaviour of the police are two seperate questions, in a way. The police were shocking. It was assault. Not restraint.
Nebraska Red Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 that video is awful to watch, that one police officer was just wailing on that one guy's head, he had to be pulled away by the other police.
Tetti Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Very horrible pics those. Sorry for those who got attacked by the police and so glad it wasn't us. Club loyalties are irrelevant when you see women getting pulverised.
Ed the Wool Posted April 4, 2007 Author Posted April 4, 2007 Never mind f*** em. it wasn't our fans this time, I remember when it was.I tell you, that's exactly the pictures from Heysel. Roma fans charging first. English defending themselves, and retaliating. Police brutality. Its f***ing disgraceful. I've no love for the Mancs. We got banned for scenes EXACTLY like those. Those of you sayting f*** em need to have a good look at yourselves. It'll be us next time if something isn't done.

Don't agree with Utd fans charging the partitions (pretty stupid IMO), but the Police reaction was OTT and Roma fans need sorting out once and for all.
nd Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 BAN THE ITALIANS UEFA!! I can see where you're coming from, and it's long overdue. But...give Man U a bye into the semis? In all seriousness, if the Greater Manchester Police got a little too tasty with away fans at the return leg then there would be hell to pay, but f*** all will be really done about this because it's an Italian club. In the same way that f*** all gets done when Italian and Spanish supporters (and managers) decide to add a dash of racism to the entertainment.
Stevie H Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 http://www.dailymotion.com/Matthierry/vide...kk_crowd-fightsthat's disgusting. in any situation other than football that would be front page news and an outrage, so i hope the roman police are dealt with properly over this. no excuses whatsoever.
Earl Hafler Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 (edited) That's f**king disgraceful. If i were the poor guy being hit repeatedly by that copper i'd sue. That wasn't restraint or prevention, that was an attack and an extremely vicious one. Edited April 4, 2007 by Big Stuff

Cobs Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 dreadful scenes. Feel v sorry for the innocent fans who took a pasting. Simply no need for any of that. So Roma fans ran to bang on a perspex screen when they scored and Utd fans ran back at them? - BIG DEAL! - send 'em back to their seats and leave it at that. Ridiculous over-reaction from the Coppers.

Out of order.

Sion Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Yeah, but he probably had a really good excuse for throwing that
Guz Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 United fans charging the barrier seems daft to me but why don't they just have two lines of police and either side of the fence if they dont think the fence will hold?? Another avoidable incident it seems
