jimmylibel Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Seems confident enough of being there next season... excellent. Glenn Roeder claims 'two or three' of his Newcastle team do not have long-term futures at the club. Roeder, whose team slipped up at AZ Alkmaar in the Uefa Cup and Charlton in the Premiership, has been disappointed by recent performances. While the former West Ham chief admits he can have no arguments over the application of the majority of his injury-hit squad this season, he has cited poor attitude in some players. The manager is determined to root out the deadwood in his squad and claims he already knows where to start wielding the axe. "In our last two games in Alkmaar and at The Valley, I was disappointed with the attitude of two or three of our players - not all of them - when we went a goal behind," said Roeder. "That is something I will not accept. I know who these players are and it will not matter to me whether they have contracts or not, they will not feature in my long-term plans. "I have been in football all my life and one thing I have learned is that as far as motivation is concerned, 99 percent of the time, it comes from within. "It is something you are born with, so in some cases, it does not matter who the manager is. "However, I am a naturally motivated person and I have to say I am hugely disappointed that at times in our last two games against Alkmaar and Charlton, some of our players have not shown the natural motivation I expect and want at this club." smithdown Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 "it does not matter who the manager is" Brilliant stuff from the masterful coach there.
psl Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Does he really think anyone gives a s*** what he says? He keeps coming out with these big self-important proclamations of what he's going to do, who he wants to sign and what a great job he's doing. He's a c**k.
Stevie H Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 he really is f***ing shocking isn't he? doesn't have one clue what he's doing.

I f***ing hate him "I was disappointed with the attitude of a few of the players in Alkmaar, so what i'll do is errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr play them again 3 days later in the League" Way to go Sherlock Edited March 28, 2007 by CarraLegend
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 as far as motivation is concerned, 99 percent of the time, it comes from within. I think he's right about that
Sion Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 I honestly believe, player for player, Newcastle are just as good as Brazil.
Kahnee Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 he really is f***ing shocking isn't he? doesn't have one clue what he's doing. That's SCS's replacement sorted, then
kenny7 Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 I thought it was great a couple of weeks ago, when he announced that no other manager could have done better than he had, with all the injuries newcastle have suffered.
hideNseek Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 However, I am a naturally motivated person f*** me if he thinks he's naturally motivated he's obviously never seen himself on Tv. Or perhaps he has and like me falls asleep.
Guest Scot Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Geordies got special permission to hire this eejit....

Benitez Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I'm not sure Roeder should be planning as far ahead as next season The boos will still be ringing around St James' Park now after another shocking display.
Falconhoof Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I look forward to hearing what he has to say next. Funniest man in football. Shame he won't be there next season.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Roeder will be there next season. He will then be sacked after five games.
nashman Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Roeder is planning to keep one of Gooch or Bramble . Apparently Bramble has had contract extension talks http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcast...ws/tm_headline=onyewu-left-in-limbo%26method=full%26objectid=18832214%26siteid=50081-name_page.html "The Journal understands United, who are aiming to sign two new centre-backs in the summer, will keep either Titus Bramble or Onyewu, with Roeder yet to make a final decision. Bramble had been set for a new contract, but talks were called off after he was heavily criticised by Roeder in the aftermath of the Uefa Cup defeat by Alkmaar." Any premiership manager who even contemplates offering Bramble a contract extension deserves to be sacked on the spot.
Benitez Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 laughable stuff. Newcastle fans have already decided Onyewu is s**** an all, he's been Bramble-esque since arriving there. They need both of them out, and with Onyewu only being on loan, it isn't even a decision they have to make. Get rid of those 2, and get in 2 experienced defenders who can actually organise and speak to their fellow defenders. But hey, who are we to tell the great Freddie Shepherd and Glen Roeder what to do with their defences Funny thing is, apparently last summer, Roeder didn't want to go for Sol Campbell, cos he was too old. When someone like him was exactly what they needed.

Read on some Newcastle forum; a small minority don't think Hyypia is good enough for their defence....
