Bootle Buck Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 (edited) It's time to feck off the premeirship players and let lower league players play for England. They would at least show the heart and soul needed. These feckers are doing nothing more than adding too their cap collection. Very few of them have ever done anything in an England shirt to justify being regular picks. Edited March 24, 2007 by Bootle Buck
Sion Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 We need a goal... so he swaps a terrible RB, for an inexperienced, and possibly just as bad one
Guest Linton Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 There is only one great british manager out there and he likes whiskey.
Bailo Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 We need a goal... so he swaps a terrible RB, for an inexperienced, and possibly just as bad one It was a strange decision, I'll grant you (possibly counting on Richards' greater physical presence) but Richards will be a far better footballer than P. Neville.
Paul_LFC Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Email your friends at the FA Kev, and tell them what to do.

Neville.oh yeah 100% without a doubt, but as he is at the moment he's not exactly going to offer anything that Phil Ratface can't. Terrible decision playing Lennon on the left as well... It was as if the players were scared of losing...pathetic. It's worse than when Sven was in charge.
Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 There is only one great british manager out there and he likes whiskey. Wrong, Allardyce drinks special brew not whiskey.
smithdown Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 The winger is having some joy on the ball on the left but is struggling to get decent ball in on his wrong foot. Obvious answer - take him off and stick your love-child on instead.
floyd Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 (edited) Take Fat Frank of, put Lennon on the right, put Steven in the middle, and Barry on the left. Any cvnt could see it except SCS.Glad Jamie and Stevie came through ok, so that's all that matters Edited March 24, 2007 by floyd
Guest Linton Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Wrong, Allardyce drinks special brew not whiskey. Yeah, Fat Sam is great...a great fraud.
Paul_LFC Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 I thought Stevie and Carra were the best players out there tonight. Carra even had a few chances. Rooney put in another garbage performance.
smithdown Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Play the players in positions where they do a job every week, he said. Like Carragher at left back - where he hasn't played for over five years - so as to accomodate neville at right back (even though he never plays there, but his brother does).
CarraLegend Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 (edited) "To dominate the game and have the chances we did and not score was disappointing and not good enough." Chances? Must of missed those when I went out the room to get a drink. If he really believes that then its no wonder the team is in this state. Edited March 24, 2007 by CarraLegend
George Costanza Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 I hope he stays. At least our lads will get the summer off next year. Mclaren is a poor manager though, but maybe people should wake up and realise that some of englands so called 'world class' players aren't as good as they are made out to be (whether by fans or the media)

They're missing Owen to be fair, a genuine World Class player or was, we'll have to see what he's like when he's back. Edited March 24, 2007 by CarraLegend
Bailo Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Agreed, thats just a big a part of the problem.I don't know, I think a top-tier international manager could win a major Championship with England's current squad. When you compare them man-for-man with someone like Italy, I don't think there is a huge amount of difference. But can you imagine either McLaren or Eriksson dropping big players like Totti or Gattuso, like Lippi did during the World Cup?
Gomez Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 It's worse than when Sven was in charge. It was always going to be, Sven had some tactical acumen, he was just corrupted by celebrity and didn't have the strength of character to pick the best players for the job. SCS has the same problem, compounded by the fact he is from the "if it is not working shout louder" school of management. He doesn't have a clue how the modern game has moved. He should never have been given the job and the sooner he is removed the better. but maybe people should wake up and realise that some of englands so called 'world class' players aren't as good as they are made out to be (whether by fans or the media) I disagree, we've got better players than greece and as good as players as italy, the team with the best players doesn't necessarily win the WC / EC. A lot more is down to the manager than most people in this country will admit. No one knows that more than Liverpool fans after the last couple of years. We have enough top players that a competant manager should be able to get a decent team out of them, do you think Rafa or Wenger would be struggling to get a team out of a spine of Carra, Terry, Gerrard, Hargreaves, Rooney and Crouch. We certainly wouldn't struggle match after match against teams with vastly inferior resources.
Bailo Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 SCS has the same problem, compounded by the fact he is from the "if it is not working shout louder" school of management. He doesn't have a clue how the modern game has moved.Disagree with that, he's actually developed a lot of new training techniques and has some very modern technology in use, he just doesn't have a tactical brain cell. Good assistant, nothing more.
CarraLegend Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 But can you imagine either McLaren or Eriksson dropping big players like Totti or Gattuso, like Lippi did during the World Cup? Christ no
George Costanza Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 England and English teams always look toothless when they play at a slow controlled tempo (apologiesd for the Ronism) Players such as Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney who should be providing the creative/flair spark lack guile and unpredictability IMO. Gerrard and Rooney especially are both awesome at surging forward at full pelt, but when they aren't given that chance they lose a major dimension to their game. More of a bulldosing game rather than surgical precision. To be honest we are lacking it too.
Guest Kev Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 England have got the players, they just dont have team spirit. Too many are 'in it' for themselves.
stressederic Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Mind-numbingly inept. The fact I knew this was going to be the result, doesn't really make it less embaressing.
