Guest Kev Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 He wants the Spurs fan jailed for attacking Lampard. Wonder if he want Gary Neville jailed for hitting the Liverpool steward the other week ?
Guest Kev Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 He works for Chelsea so what do you expect??? A bit more decorum from a former player.
Hassony Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 He wants the Spurs fan jailed for attacking Lampard. Wonder if he want Gary Neville jailed for hitting the Liverpool steward the other week ?you don't think the fan should be jailed for attacking lampard? btw, why hasn't there been more fuss made about the Neville incident?
Guest Kev Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 you don't think the fan should be jailed for attacking lampard? btw, why hasn't there been more fuss made about the Neville incident? Because the last I heard the steward had not reported it.
Hassony Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Because the last I heard the steward had not reported it.any reason for that, has he been asked by the club not to make a fuss about it?
Guest Kev Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 any reason for that, has he been asked by the club not to make a fuss about it? I honestly do not know, I'll find out more at the Arsenal game. I was told this at the Barca game, he suffered a cut underneath his left eye, he was getting the piss taken out of him in the Arkles after the game.
Duncan Disorderly Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Lampard`s da was a hard man, pity the apple fell too far from the tree.
lfc003 Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Haven't seen the incident but if right then Redknapp is right however much you dislike a player you can't disagree with the fact that a severe punishment should be given to the fan. The guy went to attack him and could have had a weapon on him. R.e the supposed Neville incident, why would Redknapp have a opinion on something that may or may not have happened and something he probably has no idea about.
Guest Kev Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 R.e the supposed Neville incident, why would Redknapp have a opinion on something that may or may not have happened and something he probably has no idea about. Redknapp was quick to be judge and jury and condemn the fan. All I was asking would he say the same thing if he had witnessed the Neville incident ? I doubt it very much.
dorgie Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I don't recall Redknapp (or any other pundit for that matter) calling for something in the order of a lenghthy ban for Gary Neville when he decided to goad the Liverpool fans last year. Actions like that lead to idiot fans doing things like happened tonight, but the Gary Neville's of this world don't seem to make that connection.
Cobs Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Redknapp was quick to be judge and jury and condemn the fan. All I was asking would he say the same thing if he had witnessed the Neville incident ? I doubt it very much.he might well have Lampard is his cousin though and any fan attacking a player is unlikely to get much sympathy from a fellow (ex) pro.
£440,000 Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 he might well haveLampard is his cousin though and any fan attacking a player is unlikely to get much sympathy from a fellow (ex) pro. Yeah, especially when, as you point out, they're cousins who've known each other all their lives.
Guest Kev Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 he might well haveLampard is his cousin though and any fan attacking a player is unlikely to get much sympathy from a fellow (ex) pro. but assault is assault, it's about time this country makes the rules that we have to abide by applies to them as well.
CarraLegend Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 (edited) Haven't seen the incident but if right then Redknapp is right however much you dislike a player you can't disagree with the fact that a severe punishment should be given to the fan. He'll go down for it and be banned for at least 10 years if not life, what i'd like to see though is the same rules applied to the people on the pitch. Ben Thatcher can charge at an incredible speed and forearm smash someone in the face, he gets a 6 game ban or whatever it was, meanwhile a fan runs on the pitch, misses with a punch and will go down. The lad who ran on deserves all he gets but the way football fans are treated compared to everyone else is disgusting. Edited March 20, 2007 by CarraLegend
Cobs Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 but assault is assault, it's about time this country makes the rules that we have to abide by applies to them as well.so what's your problem with redknapp then? He'll go down for it and be banned for at least 10 years if not life, what i'd like to see though is the same rules applied to the people on the pitch. Ben Thatcher can charge at an incredible speed and forearm smash someone in the face, he gets a 6 game ban or whatever it was, meanwhile a fan runs on the pitch, misses with a punch and will go down.the fan can't ever claim he was going for the ball though, can he?
CarraLegend Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 the fan can't ever claim he was going for the ball though, can he? And neither can Thatcher
Guest Kev Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 so what's your problem with redknapp then? He spoke like he was off to give Ronaldo a blow job, makes me spew how ex-players fornicate over those t***s.
Cobs Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 And neither can Thatcherbut he can the difference between the 2 situations is pretty clear for me He spoke like he was off to give Ronaldo a blow job, makes me spew how ex-players fornicate over those t***s.only got in in time to see the Southgate interview and the dive for the pen, then switched over.
stressederic Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 but assault is assault, it's about time this country makes the rules that we have to abide by applies to them as well. So the guy should report it then. Of course Gary Neville is in the wrong for hitting him, but if he doesn't report it then nothings going to happen. It's not like the police have decided it's not a case worth troubling with is it?
CarraLegend Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 (edited) but he canthe difference between the 2 situations is pretty clear for me Oh yeah sorry, the ball was stuck to Mendes face so Thatcher had to go in with a forearm like that. Clear as day. If you think he can attempt to excuse this with he was going for the ball then you're stupid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNCpHGVPJ-w...ted&search= "Balls on the floor but I just needed to protect myself from Pedro's face officer" Edited March 20, 2007 by CarraLegend
