Momo - the most overrated CM for LFC ever?

Well, what do you think? He can't pass. He's a cross between Bernard Langer and a turtle. He couldn't score at a fashion show in a diamond outfit. He couldn't even assist his wife in the kitchen.

 

Name me one CM in a Liverpool shirt who has been rated higher with so little talent on the ball.

I?ve seen many a performance from him were he?s been MOTM and bossed the game, he?s been unlucky with injuries this season and when played his passing has been woeful.

 

He's hardly the finished article is he? Look at the whole picture and he?s hardly as bad as you make out.

Hmmm..hes one of the few guys who can actually nick a ball off robben running at full pace. You can say its the length of his legs but pace is definitely not one of his shortcomings.

Agreed - his passing since his return from injury this time out has been extremely poor, but he was an essential player for a lot of last season

This thread is so ridiculous, a few months ago before his injury, you all were saying 'Momo is Boss'. Kinell, give it some f***ing time.

He's really not a bad player, but he's just not what we need anymore. His passing isn't good enough for him to be a fixture in a side that wants to win trophies regularly, and let's just face: it never will.

 

He's a very good player in his own right, but I sincerely hope that Mascherano has been signed as his replacement. Even if his passing was a bit off yesterday as well, he's shown before that he's a very solid passer.

Against physically strong sides, and in games against the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd, Momo is very effective in breaking up play.

 

HOWEVER, in games that we will inevitably have a lot of possesion and need to attack, attack, attack ... he is a liability. In these type of games our midfield should be:

 

Gonzalez-Alonso-Gerrard-Pennant.

The rules around here are simple - a player is either FANTASTIC or he is UTTER BILGE. No middle-ground exists, no poor performances can be factored in, and excuses such as age or recent injuries will not be tolerated.

he's been in bad form of late - after coming back from injury.

 

when he joined - right up until he got injured he was absolutely immense in 90% of the games he played. Thats what got him rated so highly in the first place.
