Wasn't this the position/role Carragher used to play as a youth/reserve team player?

 

It might be an option for the sh*te that is England, but Liverpool have several better players for that position.

 

TBH, I reckon Carragher lacks the pace/mobility to do that kind of job really well.

Carra actually made his debut for us as a holding midfielder, and scored against Villa with a header from a corner as far as I remember.

 

Since then his goals to games ratio hasn't been quite as good...

I disagree. I vividly remember watching him playing for England U21s several times and he was in the holding midfield role.
