Guest kring Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 To show he's the great player we all know he is.....Hopefully against Arsenal!!!
Bootle Buck Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 (edited) He needs to get out on the training pitch and practice on the things he KEEPS doing wrong. His corners, set peices, flicks and poor final passes are still a part of his game that drastically needs to improve. Too many, including the media seem to overlook his weaknesses and highlight his great points. He is potentially one of the best midfielders in the World but still has room for improvement. Rafa's stubborness to push him out of position isn't helping either. Edited March 18, 2007 by Bootle Buck
lfc003 Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 I really hate the 'play him in the middle' media compaign but his and our form since Momo's return is poor.
FakeNewsBear Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Surely a great team performance is more important

He's saving himself for that, it's obvious
Nebraska Red Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 i'd settle for seeing him be involved in a game for the whole 90 minutes, or until he's subbed. for me, he seems to be on the outside of so much of our play instead of being the driving force. early in the game, he was all over the pitch getting involved and then he just seemed to be flitting in and out as the game progressed.

Look at how the team performed with him there last season

Guest Kev Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 He his wasted out on the right, he needs to be in the middle.

He's saving himself for that, it's obvious I had a really vivid dream last night that we lost the CL final 3-2 to Bayern Munich after leading twice.

He's not positionally disciplined enough to play a holding role, and he's not someone who can control a game from the middle of the park. He's not really on the right anyway, is he? It's more a free role allowing him to roam where ever he wants.

jon_hall Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Was he the only player who needs a big game. Seemed to be all of them today who need to prove a few points in the next game, and thats from both teams.

Guest ade1 Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 This has been the way for the last five seasons if we are being honest. An annual cup win and the glory that comes with it is all well and good, but the ambivelence of the the players in the league is hard to ignore. Turn it on in games when its do or die is commendable, but I would swap it all (including numbers five and a possible six) for some balls shown against second or third tier teams on a consistent basis; that would make us potential champions considering the opposition.

We had it last year hence our best ever Prem points total. Unfortuately the influx of the players has ensured we haven't progressed. Yet.
