It would certainly be a coup if we were to successfully swoop for him with our well endowed warchest.

I think he is a decent player, but i dont see what the hype is just yet.

Then again maybe i have jsut not seen enough of him.

Spurs don't need the money and unless he starts agitating for a move which I don't think he will, it is going to take a huge fee to sign him - £20million at least. Money that I think RB would rather spend on Alves/Villa/AN Other.

Spurs sold Carrick to the Mancs for 18 million pounds. How much do you guys think they're willing to part with their best striker for?

Pipe dream unless they want Crouch + 7 million.

I like him, he's tidy and has good technique, but I like pacey strikers who thrive on goals. He seems to enjoy playing the beautiful game, a type which we have in abundance. Top, top striker required.

no improvement on Crouch, for me.

Sorry, much as I like Crouch he is not a patch on Berbatov. I have said on another post Berbatov would be just as good option to play up front as Torres or Villa due to his premiership experience and I hope this is true.

I cannot see Spurs selling him unless for a ridiculous price, and I wouldn't want to pay that for him.

Decent player as he is, I'm not sure he's the sort of striker we need to complement what we have.

But, as for Spurs keeping hold of him, unless they win the UEFA Cup, then they may struggle to keep hold of him if they fail to get into Europe for next season. They are underachieving.

He's class - more mobile than Crouchie for me and more of an out and out goalscorer.

I'd be a bit disappointed if we paid big money for him now though in one respect - the point being we played Leverkeusen a couple of times and obviously knew all about him before he moved to England, so why get him now his price has doubled?

We really should have signed him last summer if we wanted him - can't see it happening now.

Is Berbatov any better than Klose ?

I know he's having a good season - but these days I'm wary of strikers in their break through year

and even though I mentioned Klose I'm worried about buying strikers who have never played in the premier league

the difference here is that the Bundesliga isnt that dissimilar to the premier league

He's scored 7 in 7 or something like that, where were the 'Buy Berbatov' threads when he wasn't scoring ?

Berbatov was very succesful in the Bundesliga for years himself though. Scored about one in every second game for Leverkeusen.

My worry with Klose is he seems to blow hot and cold. He's brilliant for a whole season then awful for a whole season.

I started one before he even came to England Kev let alone when he's started scoring lately. :)

The Berbatov w***fest will die down when he limps off at the weekend.
