If I had to resort to buying tout tickets for PSV, could I mention it here or would I be seen as a corrupting influence that fosters the existence of this vile trade?

If they're Irish you can mention it.

There's a zero tolerance on it mate

I know that..I don't tout tickets and I don't like touts but..

how far does it go? you are outside the ground at PSV, you get offered a ticket at £20 above face value...last chance to see game, what do you do? do you take it and then not mention it here? that seems to be the etiquette

just want to know - not looking for an argument, especially not with you

I'd pay an extra £20 without a second thought. True its a bit of a rip off, but its not like the Tout is making a living at that price, he's just getting his ale money sorted.

I wouldn't do it myself, but wouldn't complain too much either.

That'd be different from saying agency xyz has tickets at 200 notes or whatever.

After the fact is ok to post, it won't get deleted.

Though I might burn down your house.

People buying the tickets off them are just as worse because they're encouraging them to do it more. Pissed myself when for the Arsenal CC game some tout had 9 spares and resorted to flogging them for under face value

so if a CL semi final home leg ticket came up, you wouldn't take it if it was £20 over face value?

very principled of you - good thing people like you are around to teach everyone right from wrong

can you also advise us on this then? is it right to pay those ridiculously inflated Easy Jet prices? won't it just encourage them? after all they are ripping off the footie punter just like touts

I've got my flights booked but should I stay home in protest? need some spiritual guidance...thanks for helping me

in fairness, you raised the question

can't blame someone for then giving their opinion on it

Seeing as I already think £34.50 is a rip off, no.

that's true actually

suppose an apology is due...but moving on, isn't there a case of wondering where to draw the line? what about flights and hotels etc? it's the same thing IMO

personally, the only stand I see as realistic is not selling tout tickets and of course one should not be able to sell them on here

but that's about it

I see, so you're a bit of a whopper then... full time,

but conversely, only a part time supporter

Haha, rich coming from somebody who wants to openly and admitently buy from a tout.

I still go to most games, I can complain, rightfully, about the ridiculous prices if I want to, I pay them.

Trying hard not to sound like one of them 'cheaper in the olden days' folk, but it's difficult.

My mate and I got CL final tickets for Istanbul from a tout and a fan, got ripped off (paid well, well above face value) by both but don't regret it one minute...it gave me access to one of the most amazing nights of my life.

Conceptually though I am dead against touting but I'm morally flexible.

I'm against touts but not at the expense of me getting in the ground.

i had a spare ticket for the untied game.

i was trying to sell it at face value outside the ground to a genuine fan, but the only people looking for tickets were clearly touts. so i had resigned myself to selling to a tout for over the odds.

just as that happened 3 lads who looked like decent lads approached us, i said i only had 1 ticket. so they took that at face value.

the guy i sold it to sat beside me at the game, is 2 other mates had to pay 200 quid for a ticket.

he was a very nice lad, but would you adam&eve it, he turned out to be a feckin manc fan desperate for a ticket!

i wasnt too annoyed, cant blame a guy for trying and he was very grateful for the ticket and a genuine football fan.

i gave him a dig when o'shea scored for what its worth

exactly, yeah. I'd not tout a ticket but if I had to pay over the odds to see a game and it was the only way, then I'd pay it.

I recognise that I am creating a market....

I was in tk maxx  before the CL semi V Chelsea some bloke was telling me he had just paid £1000 for a ticket.

unbelieveable....

you admit to shopping in TK Maxx

If you've paid inflated prices for an easyjet flight, inflated prices for hotel accommodation and the only way of getting into the ground is to pay a tout at inflated prices, seems the only way to go. You've already been screwed, why cut your nose off to spite your face at that stage?

Obviously touting tickets is immoral, but it's essentially the same principle operated by big business, laws of supply and demand and all that bollix.

surely a 'full time' supporter wouldn't need touts as they qualified for tickets anyway?

I applied for a second season ticket before my ex even got pregnant

now my son is 9, still no extra ticket

I did my best

Still haven't forgotten paying 40 quid for a ticket for the 77 Cup Final against the mancs -mind you I was desperate and drunk or was it drunk and desperate?

A couple of issues here

First with regard to the price of flights that is not comparable at all. Their buisness model is to sell cheap when there is no demand to encourage people to fly to places they have no need to go and to sell expensively those seats where there is huge demand. Perfectly sound business model.

With regard to touts they exist because people use them they provide a service albeit at the expense of fans of the club/group whatever. I have not needed to use a tout but would if there was no other option.

I once baulked when these lads bought from touts outside the Sandon when we were playing Leeds (3:1 to use three goals from outside the box and Bowyer for them) when these lads paid £100 a ticket they explained that as they had already spent £600 on flights, accomodation in the Moathouse and ale money that it made more sense to pay £700 and see the game than spend £600 and not

Don't even get me started on the part time cockney reds and the prices of tickets down there
