sly sparts

"Today I don't have any desire to go back and sweat blood and tears again in England," he told the Fifa Futbol Mundial programme on Sky Sports.

"What I have out here in Spain suits me very well and I'd like to stay whether it's at Recreativo or somewhere else."

After this performances this season we should net a tidy sum. He played a major part in number 5 and i will always remember him for that. Aside from that, I wont be particularly bothered to see him leave, we have moved on.

Unless we negotiated a fee with Recreativo before the move. Which would no doubt have been a small fee

9 goals in 14 starts....hmmmmmmmmmmmmm....!

makes you think doesn't it ?

surely this could indicate that we need a " feeder" /" development" club , where we can give our young players more playing time

Have some vague recollection of that being true. Something around 3 million, but can't remmeber if euros or quid. If that is right I'm not sure if Pongo would still have the option of going elsewhere.

Was 4 million euro I think. But hasn't it been suggested that they won't have the money for that.

Recreativo will struggle to afford him, and he may not want to stay, his stock is high and he may want to go to one of the bigger clubs. He could prove to be a great bargaining tool... Sevilla have expressed an interest!

or perhaps that its just easier to score in Spain? Even Kanoute does it fairly often.

Possibly why Rafa has brought in Veronin as a cheap 4th choice alternative.

There was talk that he wanted Pongolle to return, but I doubt the lad would want to come back and be 3rd or 4th choice striker.

Kanoute, Sinama, Kovacivic, Milosovic, Morientes and forlan back that theory

I cannot recall him having a bad game for us, he was never given a proper chance.

If he does leave then good luck lad, thanks for the F.A. Cup and the European Cup.

Palace in the league cup.

Someone else has probably already written this but I replied without reading the second page.

Would still like him back though.

(Ah, they hadn't. Maybe it was just me that thought that...)

pongolle could turn the offer down and then be bought by a more suitable club for whatever fee we got. Pongolle will have attracted some attention with his performances so i can see him going to another club.
