CarraLegend Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...n+dies+in+Milan A Celtic fan in Milan was killed on Tuesday night after being knocked down in a traffic accident. The man, who has not been named, was in the city to watch his side's UEFA Champions League tie against the Italian giants. He was struck by a taxi at shortly before midnight and taken to the Niguarda hospital, but doctors were unable to save him and he died later that evening. "We can confirm that a British citizen was killed last night in a road traffic accident at 11.30pm involving a taxi," said Joanne Yeadon, press officer at the Milan consulate. "Next of kin have been informed. My colleagues are dealing with the authorities and offering consular assistance." Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the victim was a 37-year-old Scottish man.
CarraLegend Posted March 7, 2007 Author Posted March 7, 2007 RIP. Any info on where in Milan this was? http://www.cp.org/english/online/OnlineFul...mp;languageid=1 Via Santa Sofia close to Milan's Duomo Cathedral
matty Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 http://www.cp.org/english/online/OnlineFul...mp;languageid=1 Via Santa Sofia close to Milan's Duomo Cathedral cheers. Indeed a very busy road, although not really that close to the Duomo. Bloody thing about Milan, streets are very congested, and once they get a bit of clear road, they put their foot down. Don't know the circumstances obviously, but can see how it happens. I nearly got knocked down in Milan one night.
