And a few others did something of note as well. Agger was excellent, Alvaro was strong, JAR had a good game (cos he wasnt in defence ), SteG and Xabi where excellent as well. Kuyt and Bellamy worked their arses off and didn't give Barca's defence a moment to breath.

The two tackles Finnan put in late on were blinding. Most underrated player in the Premiership no doubt.

I was just angry most of the game, didn't really enjoy it apart from the early efforts. When those didn't go in it led to a lot of hoofing, hollywood balls and rushed passing. Sissoko disrupted a lot of play and then promptly surrender possession constantly, whats the point of even being there if you're going to do that. Towards the end he was pressing high upfield and Barca breezed by him. Kuyt was deep most of the time and wasn't very good. Gerrard didnt emerge till the end. Alonso hardly got on the ball.

We have two of the best midfielders in Europe and they hardly got on the ball and passed it in a make or break game at home, does this not bother anyone else? Well I'm gonna have a whine. Barca were rubbish first half, they are lucky they didn't get humiliated tonight.

Barca hoofed a bit, about as much as us really, sometimes people see what they want to I guess! Hoofing wasnt an issue, it was done by both teams when it had to be done.

 

Alonso had a good game, Gerrard got more and more into it, and had a very good 2nd half. Dunno what else they could do on the night to be honest. I guess if its not highlight reel, it's not going to get noticed. But tonight they did the job they had to do.

 

If you where angry, then maybe you have issues I was delighted by the first 60 mins, and then nervous as hell for the last 15, but angry I wasn't.

Pisses me off when I read or hear commentators say Liverpool have only one world class footballer (ie Gerrard) - Carragher and Finnan are currently irreplaceable in our side, there's no one else I would want. Brilliant performance from the pair tonight

Alonso was magnificent as was Steve Finnan. Don't know what some people want. For two halves from four we were far better than the reigning European Champions and supposed best team in Europe.
