Mr Makaveli Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 In the live match report they strung up a picture of the front page of the Rag. What the f eck they playing at? Do they think it is funny? Dont know if they would do that and if they did so what... if they want to make a tasteless joke then thats them. big deal though. not being disrespectful but the papers will do things like that. to be honest id expect it more from the tabloids and proof of the tabloids BS from before is exactly why you're getting wound up. forget about it.
Knox_Harrington Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 They mentioned rants from the Sun in their body text pre-match. The photo isn't there now.
Guest Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 They mentioned rants from the Sun in their body text pre-match. The photo isn't there now. Knox - You¡re right. They had it during the match but now they changed it and replaced it with a sunset. They can be as witty as they like but using the Rag in a LFC match thread is bad taste.
Murphman Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 A bit extreme to say to Boycott them. Jesus Christ The General Forum would collapse!!
Guest Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 So you don't think placing the front page of that Rag on a live LFC page to make a witty remark isn't extreme? It's extremely bad taste. I for one have complained to them. And I'll be staying away from their live match threads as well as their blogs about LFC.

There is never anything new or interesting from them anyway and the contributors are juvenile idiots. Their football journalists are probably amongst the worst in the country - even Harry Harris gets it right every now and then unlike the GU football crowd.
Guest Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 So I should change the title to Boycott the Guardian Football Unlimited just to make sure they're not having panic attacks in the General
DanielS Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 So I should change the title to Boycott the Guardian Football Unlimited just to make sure they're not having panic attacks in the General Exactly. I wouldn't know what to do with my time if I had to boycott the Guardian. I might have to work or something. One of the GU football journos has already called all Liverpool fans idiots after the Carling Cup game against Arsenal so its not as if they haven't publicly spelt out their attitude towards us.
Guest Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I used to read the Independent a lot - but their mania for daily Crusades has put me off a bit Spanish papers are even more blinkered
DanielS Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I used to read the Independent a lot - but their mania for daily Crusades has put me off a bit Spanish papers are even more blinkered Is it true AS has gone with "Bye, Bye Barca"?
Guest Portly Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Spanish papers are even more blinkered I was in Barcelona with Leo No. 8 for the away leg when we played them in the UEFA Cup. We were surprised how blinkered the local rag was. All LFC supporters were described as "hooligans." For example, there was a photo on the front page, showing perfectly innocent supporters getting off a plane, with the caption "Liverpool hooligans arriving at the airport."
Andy @ Allerton Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 The Guardian is the most disgusting paper in circulation today Not at all suprised they have sunk to this
Tosh Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 The Guardian is the most disgusting paper in circulation today Not at all suprised they have sunk to this I see your Grauniad and raise you a S*n, Star, Sport, and, purely because of it's invisiousness, the Mail. And the Express
Magic8Ball Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Hate to say this, but the Torygraph sports section is a cut above the rest
