Ronnie Whelan Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Or does loosing on Saturday not hurt as much as it usually does. Sure, loosing agains the mancs is never nice but we are not in the title race this season so loosing does effect us as much as it may have had in different circumstances. The most important thing from the match was not too loose any key players to injury and we managed that. Im focused on number 6. The usual banter from the manc fans has not bothered me as much as it usually does.
Stevie H Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 i'd still like to pluck out my eyeballs with tweezers this morning. i f***ing hate them, i f***ing hate losing to them and i f***ing well b*****d loathe losing to the c**** undeservedly in injury time. they can f*** off. the only minor consolation is that we have such a big game tomorrow night to divert the attention.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 That did not hurt one bit as much as it should have. Last minute winner, kop end, against run of play, they celebrate, Manc in my face in the pub screaming. I literally shrugged it off The BIG one is Barca and the only explanation I had is that. Whatever had of happened on Saturday (Win 5-0, lose 0-5) is that it would have been forgotten after the Barca game. If we win or lose the Barca game the emotions from that game would overshadow anything we had of got against Mancs. Thats the only explanation I have for my emotions !
johngibo YPC Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Saturday was nothing compared to that FA cup game at Old Trafford
Guest Anders Honoré Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 It hurts because it was a big step towards another championship for them. We should have made that more difficult for them.
Knox_Harrington Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 As hard as I've been hit since the derby defeat at Goodison.

Leo No.8 Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 (edited) Didn't hit me as hard as I'd expected either. I kind of knew it was coming in all honesty, the longer we dominated without scoring the more the writing was on the wall. They've been pulling off jammy last minute winners for weeks now and we've been throwing away chances to win games all season, so even when they were down to ten men I had that sinking feeling. I had my head in my hands and couldn't watch the Giggs corner a few minutes before they scored, it was all so f*cking inevitable which made it less of a shock. I just got my head down and got out as quickly as possible after clapping the players off (because they all deserved it for their efforts regardless of us having lost in the end) and started thinking about Barcelona. I think that took the edge off it as well, the feeling that the late goal hadn't really done much except hurt our pride and that the really important game was still to come; we were going to finish 3rd or 4th anyway, United were going to win the title anyway even with a point at our place, and the fact that the really big game which could lead to number six was just a few days away. We'd played well and the signs are still positive for Tuesday so I dealt with it better than normal I think it's fair to say. Edited March 5, 2007 by Leo No.8

stonty Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 You?re right, it hurts but now so much as it usually would. It wasn?t the Barca game, I just thought to myself, the PL has been gone as far as we're concerned for a while now, just wait until next season when we have some real players instead of the bargain basement journey-men that Rafa has tried to use. Boy do I look forward to when we have quality in all departments and can really humiliate them.
Scaryscouse Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 For me it hurt every bit as bad as any other defeat to them, regardless of who we have on Tuesday. We simply should have beat them ireespective of what it means in terms of the league. I'm Irish myself and have seen John O Shea play many times and to see that Donkey grab headlines with a winner, makes me sick to my stomach. I'm not one prone to knee jerk reactions, but if we loose to Barca. For the first time under Rafa's charge I will be asking very serious questions.

Who would you rather see at the helm giving the really important summer we have coming up? Who would you replace the players with who would leave if Rafa went?
Guest RedLegend Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I was well gutted anyway. Only thing is we have a big game following straight away after so not as much time as usual to stay down about it. Thankfully.
Bootle Buck Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I thought the game itself lacked the passion of a Liverpool v Mancs game. There really wasn't any unsavoury moments other than Scholes, which was handbags at best. I think both teams had an eye on midweek. Utd came happy for a point and we came out of it without any injuries for Tuesday. If Barca wasn't so soon after it might have been a different story.

Couldn't see where our goal was going to come from and was waiting for them to do exactly what they did. That's what really hurt actually. The predictable way they scored. Like Rio's s***ting goal against us.If we made the most out of such set pieces as they did we'd have won 15-1. I can't honestly believe Rafa hasn't sorted out our corner taking. I now use our corners to go and take a piss or get a pint.
Scaryscouse Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I didn't say I wanted someone to step in Ronnie and to answer your question I couldn't name a manager who could come in. I never said we've not made progress. But if we get knocked out to Barca, we scrape fourth and were humiliated in two cup competitions. Am I so unreasonable to put blind faith aside for just one second and question Rafa's judgement?

We have nobody that can swing in a dangerous corner and unless Sami is playing we have nobody that really attacks the ball. Hence all the sodding short corners we try and the ones floated out to the edge of the box for someone to try and volley home miraculously.

If I?m being totally honest I haven?t seen any improvement in this year?s league campaign compared to the previous one. That?s not good enough. Edited March 5, 2007 by Christine
