Figaro Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 (edited) Despite not being 100% ("He's not even 75% fit" said Cruyff after watching Samuel train individually yesterday) Eto'o has been included in the squad to play Sevilla tomorrow night. Deco and Thurnam have been left behind to rest - so they are starters for Tuesday. No Motta either - strange that. The list: Valdés, Jorquera, Puyol, Giuly, Xavi, Gio, Saviola, Zambrotta, Oleguer, Iniesta, Ronaldinho, Messi, Gudjohnsen, Márquez, Edmílson, Sylvinho, Ezquerro and Etoo Edited March 2, 2007 by Figaro
CarraLegend Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 (edited) Is Deco not suspended rather than rested ? That was last weekend Unless its for 10 yellows then he's probably got a 2 game ban so maybe Edit : He got sent off against Valencia didnt he? So in short, I have no idea Edited March 2, 2007 by CarraLegend

Guest Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Deco served out his ban - he's being rested. Thurnam is in cotton wool. Motta is Rijkaard's pet player - I'm surprised he isn't in the squad for tomorrow.
Armin_Tamzarian Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Motta is Rijkaard's pet player - I'm surprised he isn't in the squad for tomorrow. Perhaps its because he's one player they have no direct replacement for? Taking Motta off in the 1st leg effectively ceded control of midfield to Liverpool. I'd rest Bellamy against the Mancs for the same reason.
McBain Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 I think Edmilson is better in that role than Motta. Who is fairly toilet
floyd the barber Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 I'd similarly rest some of our players.against the mancs at home??? no chance.....

Guest Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 They could also play Marquez there. My line of thinking.
Benitez Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 (edited) against the mancs at home??? no chance..... there is a chance, cos for starters, noway are all of Xabi, SteG, Momo and Mascherano going to play tomorrow, two of them could well be rested. And there's a good chance Arbeloa won't play tomorrow, so he'll be rested, and one of Bellers, Crouchy and Kuyt could be rested. Crouch I'm guessing being as his face is broken. So it's not so much rested - as having enough fit players that we'd have to leave 3 or 4 good uns on the sidelines! Edited March 2, 2007 by Benitez

12twelve Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 fowler should be given a chance to play and score 5 against the Mancs!
