charlie clown Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 got a few through the post today: The Dead C - Vain, Erudite & StupidField Music - Tones of TownLoney Dear - Loney Noir Deerhoof - Freind Opportunity The Dead C one is amazing - vaguely remember them from the early 90s - this is a double comp of their whole career - some astounding 'songs' on it. Field Music is OK but not great on first listen. Loney Dear is just about the sunniest pop I've heard for ages. Very un-Sub-Pop but then again not a million miles from The Shins. The Deerhoof one is the real surprise though - I've got one of their earlier albums and it is a very gentle, shambling, fey indie whisper of an album. This new one is really different, meaty production, quite funky in places and what sounds like a different (and better) singer than previous.
