Guy_Incognito Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I'm visiting a mate down in Bristol for the weekend. He's not lived there long, and hasn't really been out there much, to the extent that he doesn't know where is decent to watch football - that and he's blueshi'te so watching football can't be too much fun for him. Anyway, anyone know where's decent to watch the game in town? Doesn't have to be full of reds, like, but just somewhere that'll be decent? Thanks in advance
Conchis Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 (edited) Big Sports Bar on Baldwin St. in the Centre. Liable to be full of idiots but have loads of screens..... http://www.thesportscafe.net/locationdetail.cfm?venueID=10 Anywhere around there mate will be showing the game anyway - O'Neills, Walkabout, Edwards etc.... Walkabout has two massive screens and was meant to be great during teh Champs League final in '05. Cheers. Edited March 1, 2007 by Conchis
pawiddop Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 (edited) I was down in Bristol for the Arsenal game, I watched it in an its a scream bar called the White Heart. It is by the university (in Clifton I think), there was a few reds in there but mainly full of students, but it was cheap. Edited March 1, 2007 by pawiddop

Rimbeux Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Roo Bar on Whiteladies Not been there often since I lived in the town, but left it a fine place to watch a game, and the guy who runs it now is one of the best around at putting on live sport.

Nice comfy lounge round the back! All the suggestions are good altho I dunno about the Sports Cafe, it's a bit full of "Townies" as we like to call 'em! Chavs maybe a better description!! That's what I found anyway when I watched the Bordeaux away game and apparently there's been a bit of touble down there. The White Hart isn't bad either. Just off Park Street on Park Row. If you wanna watch it right in town then probably the Walkabout on Corn Street is your best bet.
Guest Jonny-B Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Anywhere on Corn Street will be showing the game - The Walkabout has the most screens.
lazyhazysparky Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Head to the ROO Bar - very sport friendly and one of the prettiest barmaids around (she's called Chloe, as it says on the restraining order...)
cymrococh Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Watched the rugby in a rocker's pub called the Hatchet the other day, there were plenty of seats and that.
