Maldini Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I haven't been able to get the e-season videos to work for a couple of months now, every time I try to update the licence it won't go through. Anyone know how to fix this? I can remember reading something on here before about deletin gcookies or the cache or something like that.
Guest Sabre Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 You need to log out and log back in again I think.
Zoob Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 re-install Java? Not sure what kind of response you might get, but if no-one can come up with a solution that works, it would be worth contacting their tech support (if such a thing exists!). e-season ticket is working better for me this season than last. Last year, during match days it would drive me mad - instead of giving me the page with a link to the commentary, it would just advertise a Liverpool V Arsenal premiership game on the 14th June 2001.
Guest Sabre Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 tried that and it didn't work E-mail them - they responded quite quickly to my problem.
Maldini Posted February 25, 2007 Author Posted February 25, 2007 This is what comes up, I've done everything they said I should Windows Media Player Licence Error It has not been possible to obtain a licence for your machine. Without a licence, you are unable to view e-Season Ticket content downloads. Please note that this will not affect live match coverage. All downloadable content is also available in streaming format. For information on the difference between streaming and downloading visit Help / Contact Us The error could have occurred for one of the following reasons: 1) Your Windows Media Player needs to be updated: - Open your Windows Media Player. - Click on 'Help'. - Choose 'Check for Player Upgrades'. - Follow the on-screen instructions. 2) Your operating system does not support Windows Media Player 7 or above. This is the case with Windows 95, NT and Mac Operating Systems. Users with these operating systems are not able to view downloads but can stream our content (including live). 3) Your Windows Media Player needs to be configured: - Open your Windows Media Player. - Open the Tools tab. - Choose Options (If you have Media Player 9 please next choose the Privacy tab). - Ensure 'Acquire Licenses Automatically' is checked. If none of the above is relevant, you are experiencing a temporary problem and we suggest that you attempt to view another clip at a later date.
£440,000 Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I'm having the same problem at the moment.
dorgie Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I can remember reading something on here before about deletin cookies or the cache or something like that. and have you tried doing both of those ?
Maldini Posted February 25, 2007 Author Posted February 25, 2007 It just stopped working for me a while back, never really had any problems before that. The streaming on the site works ok, it's the licence for the videos that seems to be the problem.
Kindred Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 (edited) Im sure I had something similar quite a while ago and the only way I could get round it was to disable my firewall whilst the licence was sorted and then re-enable it afterwards. Not the best of solutions but it worked! Can't remember how it finally got sorted though! Incidentally quite often the content 'available at midnight' is actually available all evening prior to that on the 'whats new' tab. Anyone else found that? Edited February 25, 2007 by Kindred
magneto Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Guys I had the same problem. Its most likely a firewall problem. I have Fsecure and just disable it for a second to get the licence..then re-enable it once i've got it.

Tried loads of stuff, all the above stuff, new version of Media Player installed, re-installed, probably tried disabling the firewall too. Eventually just got pissed off and gave up
