It's probably not the night to be ranting, but they pissed me off big time again tonight. Before the game they trotted out their usual "I don't know what Benitez is thinking" nonsense. Feel exactly the same. I recorded the whole programme, but only watched the game because I knew how crap they'd be.

In fact I've developed a stratagy to combat Sky's sh!te presentation of our major games:

 

1. record whole programme, but only watch the game live, which leads to -

2. avoiding being upset pre-match by the usual "I don't know what Rafa's thinking here-Stevie won't be happy- team formation is wrong-Stevie won't be happy-should play best player(s) in best position-Stevie won't" etc,etc

3. watch game

4. scream with joy as Rafa once again outwits the opposition

5. settle back to watch the whole recoding, cloaked in the warm glow of victory and munching on throat pastilles

6. Roll about on the floor, laughing gleefully as the 'experts' try to extricate themselves from their pre-match sh!te

They were in the Nou Camp; their commentary position is probably half a mile from the pitch. I think Tyler was somewhat subdued because for our first goal he expected Valdes to save the header, and for the second, he - like everyone else - was no doubt absolutely stunned that Riise hit such a good shot with his right foot.

It was my first experience of seeing a Liverpoolmatch on Aussie telly as I just moved to Brisbane last week.

But F*** me what a bunch of knobheads, I could not believe what I heard from Craig Foster and that other idiot who has just taken over at Sydney FC.

They stooped to a new low before the game with the Gerrard issue.

 

First of all claiming he was playing in the hole then some inside info from pitchside was that Rafa had changed his mind at the last minute when he saw Messi on the team sheet and now Finnan was going to play left midfield to combat him and Gerrard right. The players would not know this system so late on and it would be a massive problem.

 

Hoddle was nearly crying and Redknapp and Gullit were dumbstruck by it all.

 

What a bunch of f*ckin clueless muppets. I could not believe what i was hearing.

 

They still wouldn't admit the system was right after the game despite the fact the Gerrard played the through ball to Kuyt which ultimately set up the winner.
