smithdown Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Who ever decided to fire tear gas in there should be in court in the morning.

dorgie Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 All in all, Lille Football Club's behaviour tonight was nothing short of despicable and no punishment will be too small for them.
smithdown Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 That's the cops who fired off the tear gas though. Heads should feckin roll over that insanity.

When I read about it on teletext, and came to this point - I kept thinking "what am I missing here". Absolute disgrace if that's how they thought they could sort it out. Aparently Van Der Sar got double vision due to the gas.

Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 (edited) All too familiar. Thankfully it doesn't look like anyone was seriously hurt Edited February 21, 2007 by Macca
stressederic Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 How in the hell is this type of thing still happening, and why on earth are there still grounds with fences?
Maldini Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 That's disgraceful, I only saw the second half and heard the commentator referring to "trouble in the Man Utd end" nice to see the media have learnt their lesson too
Guest Scot Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Nothing changes, does it? Really f*cking depressing.

AE Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Didn't half get mixed feeling over this, first horror, then anger at the police and their actionsthen relief no-one was hurt and finally hope mixed with guilt, that maybe this scare might make some of ****s think twice when they sing some of their songs (but I know it won't) The most important thing was that no-one was hurt.
Ronnie Whelan Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Was it confirmed that there were no injuries? f***ing horrible scenes and I agree with the sentiments on treating Lille as harshly as possible.

ManxRed Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I also notice the baton-happy police were strangely absent later on from the side of the ground where the Lille fans were hurling missiles onto the pitch. Same old story. Doubtless UEFA will come down hard... ...against the Man U fans. Nothing changes, barbaric English animals etc...etc...
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 In all seriousness now, despite the fact we hate them I think it is our duty to support the mancs in any complaint against the way their fans were treated last night. This sort of thing ie. Fences/over crowding etc should NOT be happening in this day in age. Not to anyone.
johngibo YPC Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 It was horrible to watch, brought back too many bad memories.Made me realise as well that i could never hate anyone that much, no matter what club they supporter, the manc c****
Huyton_Red Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Firtly, throw Lille out of the competition Secondly, Police officers should face criminal charges for their behaviour last night. The beating fans with batons and then the tear gas on top was despicable and the police officers involved should be prosecuted
Andythered Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I would agree. I wonder what the French procedure is for filing criminal charges? Doesn't a prosecutor have to be appointed/take an interest? Are the Manc sites interested in doing something about this disturbingly familiar incident?
