JGL Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 (edited) I'd have to go with George. Tom seems kinda thick.. Edited February 6, 2007 by Mersey
Guest Scot Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 It's gotta be George. I'm suspicious of Tom. He is Houllier to George's Evans
Frosty Jack Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 My head says Gillett, he's convincing, done his homework. My heart says Hicks: "my son knows all the players from his nintendo soccer game, liverpool, manhattan or whatever"
IgPig Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 (edited) George seems like the kind of man who'd get a lot of pleasure from putting a whoopee cushion on your chair. He also referred to a staff member as a "purdy laydee" in the press conference, which earns him kudos. Tom is the scary father your really fit new girlfriend takes you to meet. The one who takes you down to the basement to show you his cleaver collection. At some point in the relationship he's going to catch you In flagrante delicto and end up chasing you down the street brandishing a shotgun. Edited February 6, 2007 by Post Kuytal Glow
Benitez Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 He is Houllier to George's Evans mmm maybe. But I'm going more on their respective NHL teams here, and Montreal Canadiens are far more cuddly and lovable than the horrible Dallas Stars, so that does it for me
hideNseek Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Tom's richer, that does it for me, not that I'm shallow.
Guest Scot Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 George owns Branston Pickle. That's a big asset.
Billy Dane Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 George is more personable, but Tom strikes me as the type who's "in it to win". all based on one press conference of course!
Gethin Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Gotta be George. Les Habs (Montreal) over Dallas Stars any day
Frosty Jack Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 George owns Branston Pickle. That's a big asset. But how much do you think he actually eats?
Eskimo Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Tom looks like he can kick ass, George on the other hand...
DonRafa Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Tom looks like he can kick ass, George on the other hand... Tom looks like an American actor whose name I carn't remember. He was the auld guy who had been kidnapped by aliens in 'Independance Day', and at the end of the film he flies his fighter plane into the heart of the alien mothership...........anyone know who I mean???

DonRafa Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 (edited) Randy Quaid Yup, thats him! I think the resemblance is striking. He's a Texan too.................... Edited February 7, 2007 by DonRafa
Sheida V Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 I was impressed by both of them and also like what they said about Parry, Moores, Rafa, Gerrard and Carragher. Can you imagine Carra talking to Hicks!
DonRafa Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 I was impressed by both of them and also like what they said about Parry, Moores, Rafa, Gerrard and Carragher. Can you imagine Carra talking to Hicks! Or, even more impressively, Hicks actually understanding Carra
Sheida V Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Or, even more impressively, Hicks actually understanding Carra Gerrard was probably sent to translate.
DonRafa Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Gerrard was probably sent to translate. Aye What was it Churchill said about Brits and Yanks - 'two nations divided by a common language' Come to think of it, thats how I feel about scousers and the rest of the UK!
Guest anfieldanfield Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Clearly George is the enthusiastic, talkative, friendly face of the takeover. I've got a feeling his son,"Foster..he's the real football fan" will have a major, major influence in the club's future, and will quickly fall in love with the club. Hopefully he and Parry can work closely and effectively in the future. However, cool, calm, calculated, Tom is the man with the money, Tom is the man with the history of successful sports ownership and in my opinion Tom is the key to this entire bid. Typical Texan man, a laconic attitude, bordering on apathy, yet only a fool would be taken in by that. I reckon he's pretty f***ing ruthless. One thing I REALLY hope, is that Hicks and Gillett are at Anfield for the games against Manchester Utd and Barcelona. That will give them a true feel of just how special this club is.

That will give them a true feel of just how special this club is. I would deffo want them at the Barca game, not sure about the Man U game. The level of hatred that exists may well frighten the cr@p out of them, unless they have been to a few games in Philadelphia.
