Pongolle

Has he double figures yet? It's very well done in a team that can't produce that many scoring opportunities. Is there still a chance for him to come back or what do you guys think? I really rate him and I think he would have offered us a lot more then Fowler this season.

By the looks of it Eto is just about to come on for Barca. Looks like he'll be back for the CL match.

Barca have looked toothless ( no pun intended) up front without Ronaldinho.

Not sure about Pongolle but that lazy b*****d can stay f***ed off.

That's a bit harsh. But I rather have Pongolle back, he has great technique and is starting to find the goal as well. Could be a bit similar in his game to Bellamy.

I like Pongolle and I'd like to have him as an option in the current current squad. He's not gonna get near a regular place in the team at the moment, though, and he needs to be playing regularly for the sake of his own career, so I don't expect him back.

I wish him all the best and will be forever thankful for his display against Olympiakos in the march towards number five.

Not to mention Luton.

I'd like him to come back though.

Think he'd be a good squad option to have. Not sure if he'd be happy with it anymore though.

Rafa was never happy to give him a run up front even when we suffered with no pace with Morientes, Crouch and Fowler up front.

Cant see whats changed to be honest. I think we will cash in our chips and look for another Kuyt rather than revert back to Pongolle.

Nothing against the lad, liked his impact when he came on, good player and his MOTM performance in 45 mins against Olympiacos shows that, just being pragmatic and reckon Rafa will let him go.

Hopefully what has happened is that he has become a more reliable and consistent player. He lacked that when he left us.

Saddens me to say it, but I'd much rather have him as an option than Fowler.

I wasn't too pleased to see Robbie come on on Sunday.

I was delighted to see Fowler come on.

Fowler's strenght is prowling the box and taking half chances - the game was perfectly set up for him to come on 20mins earlier. Given all the possession we had, Fowler could have just set up base camp in their box and not moved at all because we were controlling the game.

the only reason he is more reliable and consistent is that he is playing week in week out - the only thing he lacked with us was games. Can't see that changing if he does come back though.

Shame really - I always liked his attitude and he has something a bit different that can turn a game. I'll be sorry to see him go but I can't see him fitting in long term.
