they got what they came for..defended deep, put men behind the ball and worked there b****x off when not in possession

 

There was very little room and they were content to let us have the ball on the half way line and deal with it when it came into there box

 

thought the midfield looked off pace a bit.......Thought Agger and Pennant were good and Kuyt put his ususal shift in

Agger played really well. Too many flat crosses not beating the first line of defence. That said I thought Everton defended well

Thought Agger was our best player too, he's such a fantastic footballer, we have a real gem on our hands here.

 

We missed a bit of guile in the final third.

I thought Agger was poor today, as they had only one up front, he was the man who was free to bring the ball out and he didn't make the most of it, his passing was poor. Great player but poor today.

 

And btw Pepe was our man of the match, he is turning into a world class performer.

Alonso was the worst player on the pitch for both sides.... some terrible attempts at goal, and some very poor passing. I know its a derby and the pace of it made life difficult for him, but some of the simple balls he made a meal of.

Alonso was very, very poor and Bellamy was not at his pomp either. And one more thing: Rafa IS too cautious sometimes, especially when it comes to substitutions.

I think Agger is a top player but today he was definatly not ace. As they were only playing one up and Carra was taking care of him, Agger had many opportunities to bring the ball out but he didn't make the most of it, his passing was poor.

the difference between Gerrard and Alonso was minimal.. Pennant really surprised me and looked more like what he is known for... looking confident in beating players rather than unsure.

Its the wasted set pieces that annoy me... we get so many corners, free kicks.. and the talent to capitalise on them, but for some reason that talent disappears for the short time while the set piece takes place.

Ok ok, what exactly did Agger do that was so outstanding today?

 

Carra did most of the defending and Agger offered nothing special in bringing the ball out of defence, his passing was poor. He was no worse than the rest of the team but 'Agger played very very well today' is b******s
